    Our third goal yesterday

    Was superb.

That's how you win games, fast attacking football. Lovely quick breakaway, crisp, one touch passing and bodies streaming forward. It was nice to see us playing with some tempo and pace, instead of the standard pedestrian, methodical buildup where the opposition have everyone on the edge of their box by the time we cross the halfway line.

This needs to become more regular. My only real complaint with rafa is that he rarely seems to get us playing like that. If we loosen up a bit and go for it, we can win the title.

aye completely agree. we have to attack with pace. if we counter with gerrard babel torres keane and get the defenders turned running back to their own goal we will definately create more clear cut chances imo

Yeah, very good goal, sharp and agressive attack, and Keane's run was superb.

Massive props to Reins though for starting it like that

Spot on mate. Defending when facing your own goal is a nightmare. To do that, we need to get round the back more often and put dangerous balls in.

another example yesterday was the ball stephan ireland put in for city - as it turns out their own man got to it and slotted it but the ball could very easily have gone in off a defender too. almost a double chance of scoring??

Well quite. Those kind of balls across the face of goal can take a touch off anyone and go in. As Carra found out against Hull.

Reina is always looking for those opportunities but he has to mix it up also. Reina IS the best keeper in the world IMO, if he isn't he's very close.

My suspicion during the summer (which I still more or less hold to) is that trying to add to that aspect of our game was partly behind Rafa wanting to swap Alonso for Barry. The improvement in Alonso's game has gone a long way to hiding our defects in this area. I still think though that too often he looks to pass too quickly when running with the ball and waiting for others to get into better positions is the better option.

Hopefully if we can get more confidence throughout the team then we will see more quick couunters like yesterday. Great vision and awareness from all involved.

If Arsenal or the Mancs had scored that goal the press would be creaming themselves as to tell everyone how footy should be played.

perfect goal mate, but the best we can hope for is sky putting in 6 of the best and then consigning it to the bin.

Maybe I've been watchin someone else this season but that type of break from defending a corner or free kick has been common place this season, usually with Masher breaking with the ball and going on one of those long sprints of his.Yesterday was the fist time we scored from such a break though as Masher usually runs up an alley or plays a poor pass, the key difference yesterday being Alonso was the one the ball at his feet as the break developed

The game was already won by then.

If we hadn't of been two goals up they wouldn't have been so open at the back for the breakaway.
