someone at the match yesterday was telling me that they missed games recently because they were caught playing cards for money on the team bus on the way back from a recent away game, in turn breaking the clubs code of conduct. Something that Rafa will not tolerate.

i though this was interesting, it may be the reason why both players were unused subs against Hull, a decision that provoked a load of criticism directed at Rafa on these boards, many asking why we had a 20 million pound striker sitting on the bench when we were chasing the game.

of course, it could be BS but maybe further down the line it might come out publicly. People would do well to remember that you can only tell so much sitting in your seat in the ground, listening on 5live or watching on Sky..

He's been dreadful whenever he's had a chance this year, and has said that he wants to go back to Ajax on loan rather than fight for his place. I'd say that's why he's been out of favour.

This Agger and Keane rumour is bollocks too. Rafa has his own ideas and tactics that he uses against different teams. For example, even if Arbeloa was fit, I'd have bet £100 that Sami would have played against Bolton instead of Agger. Not because Agger upset anyone, but because Rafa would want to counter their aerial threat. I think everyone in the team has been on the wrong end of Rafa's tactical decisions at some point, it's nothing personal he just sees them as cogs in a machine.

These rumours are just more ****-stirring, like last season's rumours about Agger were when he was out injured. There are always rumours flying round Liverpool about players from both teams. 99.9% are complete and utter bollocks.

If one waits long enough a post with some common sense prevails. There is no way that a footballer who earns 30k a week will be dropped over a game of cards, if u break the club conduct rules, you get fined and then u play, not dropped.

i get your point but the agger rumours last season implied something a little more serious than this one. i dont think this is totally out of the question.
one thing that makes me doubt this is thinking back to the barca game in 07, when there was the infamous golf club incident involving both riise and bellamy. both players started at the nou camp so if rafa didnt make an example of them then it would seem strange that he chose to do so in this incident.

the ting with babel is that rafa didn't want him to go to the olympics at the start of the season.....babel was just back from the injury that kept him out of the euros and apparently, had babel played in the euros, then he wouldn't have been going to beijing but then he was called up anyway....
