    Dirk & Keane

The 1 & ONLY negative from today's game is that Dirk started & played 70 odd mins & did absolutely bugger all & Keane was an unused sub!
How the hell is the man supposed 2 get into his stride if he doesn't play?!
Kuyt cannot play as a lone striker or as a striker at all 4 that matter as he has absolutely NO 1st touch! He can only play & should only be played on the right or not play at all imo...
And also playing Ngog ahead of Keane also does not do Keane's confidence any good either, that is my 1 & only criticism of Rafa.
But I must say Lucas is starting 2 turn into a decent player so I can't criticise Rafa about him anymore
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

No need to bring him on in second half, resting him for the second half of the season, we won 5-1.

I understand that but he needs to hit the form we know he's capable of more & the only way he'll do that is if he plays. There's no point in resting him 4 the 2nd half of the season & he's as match fit as a sick mule is there?!
And what happens when Torres is fit? Does Keane not even make the squad?

Oh I don't know about this. Really scraping the barrel looking for something to moan about today.

I don't fancy Dirk up front at all but he did okay-ish today while everyone else, bar Babel, made hay. Keane ran his socks off just a day and a half ago and seemed to have a niggle at the end.

Ngog needs to be given game-time to accrue some belief and maybe a goal here or there.

Rafa picked a mildly controversial team today and the knives would've been out for him BIG TIME had we failed to win. Not that he gives a ****. He should get all the credit today. It was an absolutely stupendous performance and we have the look of champions about us.

And how you can say Dirk did bugger all is beyond me, his link up play in bringing the entire midfield into the game was superb...we played with a 5 man attack for most of that game.

Kuyt was good today, decent movement, good linkup play and he retained possession well. Not much of a goal threat, which is odd for the lone striker, but he played well.

Sorry - Kuyt's link up play, holding up of the ball, passing and harrying are excellent and he does all those things together better than any of our other strikers. He is an excellent player - which is why he plays week-in week-out in a table-topping team..

He doesn't have be the biggest goal threat though if he can help others make space. He did that well imo.

Well then he shouldn't have been in the squad. Being on form is 95% about being confident & having Keane as an unused sub isn't gonna help his confidence, is it?
All I'm saying is he needs games as much as anyone.
As the saying goes form is temporary, class is permanent - but without game time u cannot change your form can u?

He defended from the front very well. He put their defence under a lot of pressure. Oh and he smacked the ball against Given's chin so you can't say he didn't pose much of a threat.
