Rafa Benitez gave us pride again. He gave us hopes and dreams. He made us feared across the Continent and took us closer to the Premier League Title than anyone since King Kenny. He became one of us and fought on our behalf. Rafa "got" LFC. For me he will forever be a legend. I'd have him back in a heartbeat. YNWA Rafa.
Under PACE, the Police have the right to hold SG for 24 hours without charge - reason for arrest: to allow a full and proper investigation to take place & preserve evidence.
I am personally not too worried that they havent got around to interviewing him until 2pm. If he was bedded down after arrest, lets say 3.30pm, they then arent allowed to do anything for 8 hours. If then, Stevie's lawyer was wanting time with his client, and the co-d/ps were being interviewed first, then it's entirely possible that the Police werent able to interview him until that time.
It is entirely likely that SG will be released on Police Bail (47/3) to return at a later date. CCTV can take a long time to obtain & convert into viewable formats, and there will have to be a decision by the CPS on a S20 assault. The police cannot make a decision to charge or otherwise on these types of offence.
I wouldnt worry overly about this. Even if it was SG who threw the punch, it's hardly in Joey Barton's league - a split lip & chipped tooth - and its not as if he's got any previous.
I'd be more worried about his taste in cars...!
Thanks for that. Im thinking along the same lines, the reports indicate that the DJ isn't particularly in injured and even if it was Stevie who threw the punch (which i doubt) its not serious. DJ will pocket 50k from the Sun for his story no doubt
You have to think who might be on a different set of tracks from solicitors...
LOL
