gerrard dropped to the reserves while awaiting his case
gerrard to be sold if he is found guilty

I think these would both be tantamount to condemnation and prejudice a fair trial.

There is no speculation, which ever way this goes down .. he was in the wrong place end of story, the club need to now do damage limitation, as this was the top ****ing story here over on the other side of the planet in Hong Kong, simply release a statement, steivie makes one statement and we all get on with it.

At this point in the eyes of the law he is innocent. Even if he is found guilty its unlikely to amount to more than a fine or maybe community service based on eye witness accounts. Those accounts also tie up with something that I read earlier in the evening on another message board so I think they may be fairly accurate, i.e he elbowed him and then backed off.

It's an ongoing case with a court date set for January. It would be pointless anyone making a statment until we know the outcome, of which he might be cleared of all wrong doing.

The media will have a field day regardless. Suck it up and use it to our advantage.
