Wrong place, wrong time, wrong company (by the sound of it). But are we not going a tad overboard - we should at least wait until the full facts of the incident are available before passing judgement.
Unfortunate incident and if I know Stevie at all I would guess he would be gutted more than anyone else that this has happened because he has always come across as a decent person.

No, Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) is worse than Actual Bodily Harm (ABH)
Stevie has got a good public image and doesn't go around getting into trouble so the worst he will get for ABH is a fine and community service if his elbow did catch him.
Short story, I will say.. I have a disprutive younger bro, and after a confrontation, I pushed my hand in his face...(eg to move him away)..... I got charged with assault
It could just be a situation, that has the "reports" state, he went to grab the card, caught the DJ with his elbow, causing missing tooth.
Then things "may" have happened after, that SG was'nt involved in.
IF SG had smacked him for the usual Football slurs, it would most definatley be GBH
My sister is a lawyer, I asked her about this and she said its possible to get a few months jail time for something like this but highly unlikely, if found guilty he'll be fined and maybe get community service.
So the best case scenario is:-
He uses this incident to fire him up for the next month and he puts in some great performances before being found not guilty and this is forgotten about.
Chance of this happening 50/50
The worst case scenario is:-
This eats away at him and his form drops, he's found guilty and gets some form of punishment, this impacts on his performances even more. The club are forced to react and set an example by stripping him of his captaincy and fine him.
Chance of this happening 50/50
The ultimate nightmare scenario:-
His performances drop, he's found guilty and jailed, due to massive outcry from the media LFC sell him.
Chance of this happening 10000/1
ill have £1 on that please mate

Affray is the wildcard it carries up to 5 years. it is commonly used to try and up the serverity of the charges. If SG admits the assault the affray will probably be dropped
ABH tends to be for minor injuries like a chipped took, slightly broken nose or minor cuts.
We know that the Manc has minor cuts and a chipped tooth.
Judging from being charged with ABH and from the reports i would GUESS that Stevie caught with an elbow and like i said the worst he will get is a fine and community service if even that. Might even get settled out of court.
Let the press have their fun, we all know most of them are scum anyway
I just checked with my sister who is a lawyer and assault, ABH and GBH are all different things:-
Assault is the least serious, this could be anything from a threatening phone call to throwing a pint over someone to a slap etc, this usually carries a fine and sometimes community service - rarely jail time.
ABH or Actual Bodily Harm is more serious and is usually used when blood has been drawn or there are other minor injuries etc, almost always carries community service - more chance of jail time than someone who is charge with assault.
GBH or Grievous Bodily Harm is much more serious, this is usually used when there are serious injuries such as stab wounds, broken bones etc. Almost always carries jail time.
I must admit to being surprised though, that after the 1-5 win, and staying top over crimbo, added to the fact his own form is excellent, that Stevie would.. now of all times, be in the state of mind to stick one on anyone.
Could be that the pressure/urge/hunger/need/fear of trying to bring this title home is bubbling under the skin more than we realise, so good to hear the clubs statement of backing for the skipper, he knows he can rely on the fans too.
Liverpool Football Club today pledged its full support to skipper Steven Gerrard following the events of the past 48 hours.
A statement from the club said: "Steven has been an outstanding servant to Liverpool for the last 10 years and the club will give him all the support he needs at this time."
