I'm especially worried about the bit in bold. Why would there be a hold-up? Why wouldn't he (or his agent) know what it is? Or they just a bit more relaxed about these things than we are?

Happens all the time in contract negotiations. Each side is holding out for the best deal. The important thing here is that he wants to stay and Liverpool FC want him to stay. A deal will be done.

I wouldn't be suprised if he left in January, along with Babel.

Babel, maybe on loan ... he's been pants and needs to buck up if he's going to be a regular. Agger, no way.
