    Dagger

See his run and step over - the boy can bring the ball forward. He should be encouraged. Although it doesn't always have to end with a shot. A sideways pass to an attacking player could suffice.

I do like Agger, very much - non sexually (disimilar in that respect from my liking for Xabi) but he has looked a little slow of late and not so strong in the air. Anyone else noticed or am I imagining it?

I aint having a dig at Agger but he's never been quick and has never been really good in the air - i see his ability in the air as his biggest weakness. I prefer Skrtel!

I think theres room in our defence for agger, skrtel and carragher. Arbeloa can go back to being understudy to j.c and then any injuries/suspensions/loss of form can easily be covered.

Losing agger would be a big mistake.

Carra cant do the right back role on a regular basis anymore. He hasnt got the legs to do it week in, week out

Agger is good at getting forward so stick him left back, Carra right back and Hyypia and Skittles in the middle. Best defence ever.

I don't think it's a fluke that our attacking play clicks a lot better since Agger started to play week in week out.

He is a key player to our build up game. He speeds up our game a lot and he allows our central midfielders to play higher up the pitch.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yep, having a central defender that can take the ball up the pitch, and even all the way to goal gives an extra dimension to a team, and allows for much more room for the attacking players.

Very few central defenders are able to give that to a team, so we should count ourselves very lucky to have Agger. Our attack is much better with him in the team

He is class and a joy to watch. We need to get his contract sorted fast

Agger is a fantastic player. To lose him would be a massive mistake.

He is only going to get better. Our future of him and Skrtel as our centre back pairing is very promising indeed.

Did anyone else not think he seemed a bit rusty last night and not his usual self? Still did OK but I thought he didn't look 100%.

While I agree with AFII that he has helped our midfield and attack I think he has been our weakest CB this season defensively. He's not be an exploitable weak point as such but I do think he needs to step up.

On the Carragher as permanent right back - I really don't think so. He has performed admirably but he is hesitant at bringing the ball into midfield and hesitates even more than Arbeloa before crossing. Arbeloa has been a top performer for us this season and he should return to the position when fit.
