Insua... Better than Dossena or Aurelio?

I reckon we should stick with this guy. Dossena is obviously awful, and Aurelio just very average (except for his ****e free kicks).

Insua looks very good, especially getting forward. Not really been tested defensively, but is it coincidence we are playing our best attacking football with him adding width?

As for Carra at fullback? Please no more. He had just ressurected his old move... you know the one where he overlaps the winger in loads of space, pivots on the ball and plays it right back. The annoying thing is I have actually seen him run it up to the line and put in a really good cross... once.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

interesting point about JC, he was very annoying yesterday, just would not cross the ball. Not sure if it was lack of confidence playing it safe or team instructions.

as for Insua, hard to say if he is better but certainyl is on the right track

I'm with Parm. I've been impressed by Insua, but only really in that he hasnt done much wrong in my books. Unfortunately, seems like that has been the benchmark for left backs for ages! I was a fan of Aurelio, but again I've thought there was room for improvement defensively. Maybe expecting a little too much but that seems to be where our competitors have it much better than we do

Didn't see enough of JC but I'd much rather someone with a little more pace and ability on the ball at right back. I also think he's needed at CB akthough cant fault Hyppia of late

See im of the thought that J.C has performed really well at rb and we should keep him there and stick skrtel and agger at cb. Insua as the lb for me for sure.

Thats a solid and effective line up in my opinion.

From the first team appearences he's made this season, I think Insua has done as well as anyone else who has played there, he looks comfortable (not out of his depth) and has been consistent. I see no reason not to stick with him at the moment, and he has the potential to get better.

I agree he's performed well there but he's also are best centre back so I would rather he didn't stay there.

I think Insua has started well and considering his age we could well have a really top player on our hands. The key will be when he gets a test against one of the top teams as we are yet to see if he can handle the pressure.

Signs are good though and there is nothing to suggest he will not cope. I do worry though that as soon as Aurelio and Dossena are both fit he will be shifted back to the reserves. And if we are being honest he has been at least on a par with Aurelio and far and away better than Dossena.

It will be really interesting to see if Dossena can make it past the Januaary transfer window, and who makes the Champions League squad.

Well as things stand I'd say that Aurelio is our best left back although he isn't that dependable. We're going to have to wait and see how Dossena is, at first I thought that he was awful, an upgraded Riise if you will. Although even though he got slagged off a lot in his last couple of games before he has gone missing i thought he showed some promise although wasn't great still. I think he could be just given some time off for the meantime, remember in Italy they're off this time of year so maybe Rafa decided to give him a bit of a break as he's struggling to settle in. Just some familiarity if you will.

I think that Dossena will stay until atleast the end of the season, unless we get a very substantial offer in January I think he should stay.

Insua is looking very good although he needs to improve on one or two areas and I think we need to see him play in harder games, the games he's played we've been on top of the opposition although Duff did seem to trouble him on a few occasions during the game against Newcastle. Although Duff is a good dribbler of the ball and can cause the bestof them problems on his day.

I think eventually Insua will be our left back but for now my preference for first choice is Aurelio when he's fit.

Dossena honestly has to go. He has not got the pace for the league and his nervousness is transmitted throughout the team when he plays. On the other hand Insua is extremely composed and is great at getting forward and is a breath of fresh air.
I never worry when he starts unlike Dossena. Aurelio has shown when injury free how good he is and should be number one at left back. I'm still waiting for Insua to have a poor game, whereas Dossena had one every second game.

Insua is Mascherano as a left back. He keeps it simple and has a big heart and great stamina and also a suprising burst of pace. If Dossena gets in again and Insua goes back to the reserves it will be a tragedy and will surely knock the kid back.

                    Better than Dossena? Yes.

                    Better than Aurellio? No.

Insua is coming along very nicely.Pitty really, because if the rumours of Glen Johnson are true, his chances are again going to very limited.Especially if we cant get rid of Dossena.

Glen Johnson plays right back doesn't he? That will not affect Insua.

Aurelio is our best left back. He was playing excellent just before his injury. This has been a feature of Aurelio's Liverpool career. Come back from injury, get back in tem, start to show your potential as a great player, then get injured again.

                      Feel sorry for the lad.

Dossena does not look like he has any ability at all but it is harsh to write him off after half a season. I would have happily have gotten rid of Lucas a couple of weeks ago and now he is starting to show what he is capable of.

I heard this mentioned during the match last night too. Are Arsenal no longer a big team and is making your season debut at the Emirates not pressure?

I sometimes think people just try to find faults regardless.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think Aurelio was excellent when fit this season. Insua has been good but is clearly still learning and keeps getting done by a simple trick and run outside him. The fact that he has a limited set of weaknesses that can be worked on rather than a seeming lack of confidence and mass of unhelpful ticks like Dossena means that given Aurelio's fitness issues Insua has to be thought of as first choice. We want to be building a team with relationships between players and consistent selection of a back four will help that.

I think there is hope for Dossena largely due to his passing and occasional bursts of good play. However he needs to sort his head out and adapt to this country. If Rafa sold him I would take it as a sign he wasn't looking to learn and that it was the right decision. Given how flaky Aurelio is though I would hope that he is being given the chance to get used to England before being given a last chance to prove himself.

...too early to tell? Yep. Lets not overhype the lad with as-yet unproven words. Better than Dossena at present, yes, but Aurelio? I, for one, feel more comfortable with Fabio in the side. He's not 'average' at all.

I thought he played either side.I'm probably wrong.
