So are you now demanding less consistency from the referees?

I understand your concerns but Ferguson started the mind games and wasn't going to let up until our form suffered. As far as the referees being under pressure to be consistent then about bloody time. Any ref that makes a decision that favours the Mancs now will be getting stick from fans and the press, they may think twice before giving them anything now.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostIts way to early to start. He's only saying what everyone is thinking. The fact he's come in with it written down means he's obviously chosen his words very carefully..he mentioned at the end he's stating fact and then ended with a joke and seemed calm throughout so anyone with half a brain can see through the inevitable 'Furious Rafa blablala' headlines. Ginsoak's retort will be interesting..what can he say? Argue against facts? He'll either laugh it off or gloss over itSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

I don't think Rafa could really have made this statement at any other point it required: us to be top, Fergie to have made a whinge which was obviously not backed up by facts and a high profile United game when we had beatable opposition to be really effective. It was now or never and if it works the benefits are huge.
It is not without risks but Rafa obviously knew that. I also think he factored in the possibility of a complete **** storm and the fact that a lot of teams use that us against them thing to their advantage. The way a lot of our players have reacted to adversity this season would seem to indicate that they have the right mentality as a group to not be adversely affected at least."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Popular myth. The London press has a London club bias.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostIts way to early to start. this is the best bit...
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
top top quality from rafa....

Rafa is spot on with his comments, the crap that Utd have got away with for years is appalling, i heard no mention in the media of Rooney's elbow and Ronaldo's kick recently against Stoke for example.
The other unsporting stuff that they get away with as well, i remember a couple of years ago at OT at half time they watered the pitch, but only the end Utd were attacking, in fairness it was Andy Gray who pointed that out. Maybe we do the same thing at Anfield but i hope not.

whatever you say about whether what rafa is saying is true or whether he is being a bit of a hypocrite seeing as he made a big fuss over fixtures and decisions by refs himself. everyone does it, why he is targeting ferguson when he has not said anything directly related to liverpool i simply do not know
he also makes a few contradictory statements, this is just bizarre and unnecessary
ferguson wont really care, he wasnt speaking to benitez in the first place so won't feel compelled to respond which makes our rafa look even more silly
why can we not just shut up and concentrate on trying to win the league title?
