    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I just sounds like people trying to be super fans by saying "I have higher standards than you" etc.

And whether Craig's point is valid or not, it's the patronising way he dismisses other people that I was referring to.
Ask me at the start of the season & I'd have said that winning the title was unrealistic as we dont have as good a squad as Scum or the Chavs, but given the inconsistencies Scum & the Chavs in particular had shown, I think it is/was realistic half way through the season.

However, I just dont think we have made the most of our opportunities with some of our line-ups & the choice & timing of our subs. Yes, that team put 5 past the Borecodes, but that was the exception rather than the rule- I think you'll find we've struggled for goals with Kuyt & Gerrard up top- both drop too deep & Kuyt isnt fast, strong, tricky or a good enough finisher to play alone up top- you need at least 2 of the 4 at top level. The ironic thing is that he was playing & finishing a lot better out wide & putting him there has not only fronzen Keane out (who was finally starting to find some form even tho he isnt suited for being right up top either), it has also severely impaired Kuyt's own impact.

I love Rafa, I cant think of a better man for the job on the whole, but some of his line-ups (namely this 4-6-0 thing) & his unwillingness to change these with subs really leave me dreadfully frustrated. I wish he'd learn from them. Yesterday fomr example, we should have unleashed Keane, Babel & Torres at half time- Moaninhio style. Lucas & Benni were poor & Kuyt just too static for that game.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

It is all about Rafa's mentality - he sets us up so first and foremost we will not lose a game - there is element of 'risk' in his teams and tbf it has generally served us well.

It is clear that we have the players suited to play in a team set up to attack more but Rafa has this cautious approach in his DNA and I cannot see him changing it. I am sure he would argue that although a draw at Stoke is disappointing it is a difficult place to get a result and they have beaten Arsenal already at home.

A win in the derby and all this ****e will be forgotten.. well for a few days at least!!

To be fair to Rafa, if he'd set us up as a real attacking team on Saturday, and judging by how poorly our offensive players have played, especially Stevie G, we would have probably come unstuck. This team should have been able to dispose of Stock because more or less the same team trounced Newcastle on New Year's eve.

And rightly so because he's our best player and captain.

Considering how 'bad' Stevie was, he came close twice to scoring. Wish a few other players had equally bad games.

Are you carrying the baton now as the most confrontational poster?

I didn't single out Stevie G, just taken him out as an example, it was implied. As loopy just said, even if he's having a bad game he can work something out of nothing, which isn't something that the other players surrounding him seem to do on a regular basis, with the exception of Nando when fit.

So please, don't try to wind me up, as I can easily get under your skin.
