You dont know what was going on in Rafas mind when making the team selection.
That team Saturday was good to beat a team that is fighting relegation.
Granted, Stoke are a tough nut to crack but the BIG players on show were not good enough on Saturday not just the little'uns.
Lucas and Yossi are squad players and are ussualy called upon when the squad needs them. Guess what Brainiac, Saturday we needed them. No Xabi and no one else good enough to throw on the right hand side.
If Torres had of picked up a knock on Saturday playing against Stoke, Rafa would have been slaughtered for using him in a game against Stoke when they (Stoke)have a team full of 6.5 foot - 20 Stone monsters. Why risk him? What good would it have done us?
As for Keane not starting, who knows. It baffled the ****e out of me at the time but Im sure there was good reasoning behind it.

The reason he played on Saturday is because Xabi Alonso was out injured. Had he not been injured he would not have played. possibly, possibly not. who knows what rafa would have done had alonso been fit.

Would Darren fletcher get into our starting 11? probably not but he would defo get a game ahead of lucas and IMO on recent performances even masherWould Mikel get into our starting 11? i would play mikel. again not as starter but defo ahead of lucas and masher on recent blah blah blah...The question is irrelevant. the question is perfectly relevant. we shouldn't be buying or playing players who are not good eough to get into our main rivals teams. if they not good enought for them then why should we buy / play them?

Should he have someone of the quality of Xavi or Pirlo or Fabregas as back up. For the good of the game, no! They should be on the pitch as much as friggin possible. The role that Lucas is playing is one that you mature into. He is being groomed. that sounds a wee bit seedy!! It is exceptionally rare for someone to play that game from an early age like Fabregas.

i'm in sort of agreement here. lucas has a terrible pass on him. he is slow and laboured to see any available passes. his first touch is decent though.

I reckon the fans aren't playing their part this season as much as the team - carra says so in his book - the champions league games it's like we have a goal head start at home -but in the league we get nervy after 15 minutes and the fans get frustrated - imagine if every home game was like a cl game - we'd have trashed hull fulham stoke and west ham at anfield and have been out of sight

he should imo get plaudits and flak depending on whats happened
sure he has been fantastic on many occasions but that doesnt mean we just forget when he ****s things up (which happens ) stoke and his lack of ambition or to change the game pissed many off
