    3 realistic targets?

    Here's the scenario...

We have a transfer kitty of 30mil to spend on three players. Who would you bring in (realistic remember. IE: within the budget, willing to come to us and who could be prized from his existing contract), to make us a title winning side?

Would there be 3 players out there, under this criteria that would make us a title winning team or do we need more players or higher priced players?

I don't think we are too far away now but i'm not convinced with Pennance. I'd have to bring in a centre half, a different right winger and an attacking centre mid..

    Lennon
    Barton
    Anton Ferdinand/ledley King

I don't think we need a CH, do we?

I really would like proper wingers for attacking purposes, and a DCM to control & then dictate the master game plan, Momo just doesn't have that head on him yet. And I think we lack a creative spark from m/f going forward, one of them edge on your seat players that make you sit up when he has the ball at his feet, although we have a good team now, do we have a flair team?

Does it matter how much or how little we have, rather than the one right player that brings the right spark, as to who that could be and if available and wanting to come to us is another matter entirely!,

We are easy to defend against at the moment. solid and good in all departments but no-one to give the ball to go and do something different and create space for us in the dangerous areas of the opponents half, our go-to man for all occasions.

How much I would give for a Makelele & Rooney in the middle for us, I think the rest of the team is ok actually, prob not as good as we could have had had the right funding been in place, but about the best we could do with what we had.

      Kevin Nolan
      Frank Ribery
      Huntellar

Maybe a bit of a pricey list but £12,000,000 for Ribery, and £14,000,000 for Huntellar leaves £4,000,000 for Nolan. It would be tight but perhaps we could get them in

Three simple changes in my eyes:

Get Morientes back to score the goals as he's clearly doing at Valencia both in the league and in the CL , get Traore back once he's fully fit again to add defensive stability to the left back spot , and restore Dudek in goal as Reina is clearly not up to it !

Kevin Nolan was at Anfield to sign for us - the week before Houllier left. He was just waiting for the word to sign the documents when a lawyer/solicitor bloke came in and told him the plug had been pulled.
          Liverpool born and bred.

That's bad. He's a good player and would fit in well at Anfield IMHO.

P.S. we obviously signed Xabi instead so every cloud and all that.

                    Aaron Lennon definitely.

Micah Richards, can play right back, centre back or in midfield.

Huntelaar would be a good signing, but David Villa would be ideal if a bit unlikely.

Not bad picks at all Kurt.
Huntelar is nice and young and looks very instinctive, plus he could help bond his partnership with Luyt better.
Ribery, well the lad is a class act enough said plus he plays on the right.
Nolan, anohter good shout, not sure how many games he would get though, he is scouse used to play in the reserves for us and has a wicked shot on him. Think I would probably prefer Barton though, think he would be excellent cover in midfield if any of the lads were missing.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Lennon is also a very good shout. the lad has it all ahead of him, would be a tough decision between him and ribery.

1.Alves - he should be a no.1 priority. We need someone solid and creative on the right. Plus he has the ability to play as a wing back or full back. Can't ask for more than that.

2.A creative midfielder. Who could we afford is the question. Would still have loved to get Aimar. Wonder if Riquelme would EVER be an option???? Maybe we could nick that young Mexican kid from Barca.....

                              3. Left Back as cover for Riise. Sorry but Fabio isn't the goods. And I don't think Warnock will be either. Bridge will stay at Chavski. Again I have no idea who we could afford. I know who I'd like to get

                              Ramos and Messi and Lahm.
