    Hidden drug bans?

Im posting this here for a reason.

There has been lots of rumours recently about premier league players that have failed drugs tests and been banned. The bans have not been made public though and are instead being reported to the media as "long term injuries"

(Too much talk for this to be a coincedence I believe - Also its in the Fa s interest as players are role models)

One is a gooner and the other high profile one plays for a club in the north.

Do people feel that this is the correct approach for the fa to take and how would you feel if you found out that we had lost a player for a time , not because of injury but because of a drug habit?

Also knowing how rafa is - do you think he would tolerate this behaviour from a liverpool player?

Would possibly explain Tomas Rosicky's sudden demise and dissapearance but i can't think of any Liverpool 1st team player who has similarly dissapeared.

I doubt your referring to Pennant because he has had the odd appearance and still plays in the reserves not to mention being chased by several clubs

      Agger?! haha

In a sense its better to do hidden bans as the player will still lose wages and the club lose the player but it just removes the standard abuse and negative press which I find very tedious.

Public drug bans quite often result in the end of a career (i.e. Bosnich) but then some players didn't really get affected by it (Rio, that bloke who was at Chelsea, now at Juve but forgotten his name!)

        Mutu

And I can't see Agger our on a drug ban, eventhough RUMOURS of his cocaine (??) was going on at the time of his injury...

He tried to come back a couple of times, with special boots, saw specialists about the problem etc. so it would be very unlikely for it to be agger...

well if you **** with drugs then you should be named and shamed regardless of who the player is.

And you would be. If you were caught through official testing then you would automatically be named, shamed and banned for a long time. The only possible way that this could be true would be if they were caught through a club's own in-house testing and banned according to internal disciplinary procedures. Seems unlikely though.

I can't see the FA/Premier League covering anything up.

If anything like this were happening it would be that any players in question were failing CLUB drug tests rather than League or FA tests and thus players would be subject to club discipline rather than league or FA bans.

The club would cover it up as it would be bad publicity and reduce chances of moving the player on
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The FA made an example of Ferdinand for missing a test and Mutu was punished - I don't see why they would deem it necessary to take a cloak and dagger approach to drugs, especially considering the repercussions if they were found out.

Both players have been guessed correctly

                    the gooner apparantly is rosicky

and the others surname does rhyme with dagger , could explain the contract issue , no?

well if the drug testing comes in line with the Olympic/Athletic testing (with regualr drug tests both in and out of season) then it will make players think twice

I guess Agger is still a raving addict that's why he's played quite a lot this year and that's also why Milan want to sign him, the secret of all of their players playing into their mid to late 30's is loads of nifter apparently.
                          Think Maldini's habbit is horrific

We have a policy that we don't want people perpetuating unsubstantiated rumours about players personal life so before this goes any further down that route I'm going to close the thread.
