    Us as fans

I love our club and the fans. I haven't been on this forum for long but since registering on the site it's made realise how important it is being a Liverpool fan, I wouldn't want to follow any other team.

I love this forum and enjoy reading the comments and posts that people leave. I now know why we are known as being the best fans in the world and why Scousers are famous for their humour! I just hope that number 19 can be brought back sooner rather than later. Be it this season or the next. You as LFC fans deserve it. This post is for every Liverpool Football Club fan, whether they're on this forum or not.

At times i wonder what it'd be like to follow someone else such as Luton or Shrewbury etc. You have no real expectations so don't feel so let down season after season. You could even follow your national team without disliking 90% of the players.

It would definately have its advantages. But I'm strictly in the 'one team for a lifetime boat' come what may.

I grew up on the Kop. I loved the sense of humour, the witty chants and retorts, the wealth of footballing knowledge. But even in the late eighties, things were on the slide. Whelan and Houghton were victims of the moaners, people who seemed to justify their existence by picking on every fault, real and imagined, of a player they had "taken against". It happens more and more, fuelled by the internet of course, and has made its way to the manager-level. Fine, have your rant, complain against lineups or decisions, but get behind the team and the manager. People whining on the terraces ... or venting in the match thread when we are on level terms, people who appear to wish certain players to do badly, or the team as a whole to fail just so they can back up their personal tirades, that seems like so much negative energy. Obviously there is still nothing like Anfield on a big night, and our fans can and do make a difference ... but that tells me that the league not coming to Anfield is not just a case of Rafa's negativity, or the players not producing their best, but too may fans who are only up for it on the big occasion, and the rest of the time are just too lazy to support the team.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.
