In a recent interview with Fox Sports former Liverpool & Leeds United winger had a few things to say that will certainly raise a few eyebrows on Merseyside.
"Liverpool fans don't compare at all to Galatasaray fans," Kewell says. "The fans are the most dedicated I have seen.
"We were at a game last year in Germany and there were 62,000 fans, but 40,000 of them were our fans. They travel all over Europe to watch us play. They are totally fanatical and the team love the support.
"There are about 70 million people living in Turkey, and about 25 million of them are Galatasaray fans. People will come up to you to get an autograph or just to say 'hello' and then they will leave you alone. They are nice and polite people and know how to handle you. To be fair to him the fans he met over here were probably less respectful due to the medication.
Its dead boring in hospital so if I was in a ward near him I would've probably followed him about a bit too.

Let's not get blinded with anything anti-LFC. How many times do we complain about our own support? It was particularly bad during the latter Houllier days - not surprisingly. He's just offering his opinion.One tit for another.

He is not too far off if you ask me, Im not that old but it seems to me that the new generation of fans are not even comparable to fans of old, i mean for most of our home games the last couple of seasons you can hear a pin drop in anfield even some booing our own players if having an off day??? WTF thats all about?? If you ask me Liverpools 12th man is in hiding at the moment.Comment
