It probably gets him used to fans and competition without throwing him head first into a highly pressurised situation. Namely a title bid that appears to be faltering (to some fans).

Has the game changed in the last 12 years since owen was a kid with us?
i think he will get more out of a month at blackpool then maybe he will get straight on the bench after?

The kid needs games thats obvious.

Between tomorrow and 24th Feb he's got 5 games (Derby on 2nd Feb is shown as postponed for some reason or it would have been 6). If he plays in all of them then that's a whole lot better than 2 meaningless reserve games for us.

Will have to see if any blackpool games are online, probably not.
        One tit for another.

so does Ngog then, if you follow that logic, why his he treated differently?

i might be wrong but if we send him on loan for the rest of the season we can't call him back.but if its just for the month he gets match fittness and 1st team experience, which could mean he may be in line for some places on the bench.
            who's arsed?

make or break for nemeth at lfc. at 20 yrs old he's too old to be considered a youngster but still a good age to be a prospect. but i hope he does enough to earn a loan till the end of the seaon so he can get some real competitive games under his belt. reserve games in a grand scale of things dont mean dick. come the summer we'll know if he is gonna maker it or not IMO. hope he does.

Darby, Spearing, Insua and Plessis are all also 20. They are going to have to get a move on now if they want to force their way into the Liverpool squad. Insua looks odds on, but so did Plessis at one stage. Be interesting to see if he can regain his place when back from South America.

I was a bit gutted Darby didn't get a chance when Arbeloa was out, and with Degen nearing fitness it seems unlikely he will play again this season.

Spearing and Plessis have a monumental task ahead of them. If only Spearing was 6ft I'm convinced he'd be in the squad by now at the very least, as it happens I can't see the lad ever making it when you realise he will run into players of similar ilk and stature to Patrick Viera.

Plessis had a great chance but suffered a dip in form when it counted, but his performances in the past has indicated he has the potential. All about concistency at the top level mind.

If I was a gambling man, in order of most likely to make it I'd go:

                Insua, Nemeth, Darby, Plessis, Spearing.
                Forwards.......

                  From ESPN match review

                  Updated: January 26, 2009, 2:28 PM UK
Blackpool are set to hand a debut to new loan signing Krisztian Nemeth when they take on QPR at Bloomfield Road.

The 20-year-old Hungarian is yet to make a senior appearance for parent club Liverpool but was a key member of the Merseysiders' title-winning reserve team last season.

He will go straight into the squad for the Rangers clash and caretaker bosses Tony Parkes and Steve Thompson are also hoping to sign a midfielder on loan ahead of the game.

Keith Southern's ankle has swollen up badly following an injury he sustained after scoring the second goal in Saturday's 2-0 home win over Birmingham.

He is rated as doubtful to recover in time to face the big-spending Londoners and Claus Jorgensen will definitely miss out as he begins a three-match ban.

Jorgensen was sent off against Birmingham and strikers Ben Burgess and Steve McPhee remain sidelined with knee injuries.

Martin Rowlands and Patrick Agyemang have joined QPR's long-term casualties ahead of the game.

Skipper Rowlands suffered a cruciate knee-ligament injury during the win at Derby last time out and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Hogan Ephraim replaced Rowlands at Pride Park and will hope to keep his place in midfield.

Striker Agyemang last week underwent surgery on a thigh injury he sustained in training and will not be back in action until mid-April.

Rangers have been without midfielder Akos Buzsaky for the majority of the season with a knee injury, while frontman Rowan Vine has been out since last April with a broken leg.

Centre-half Kaspars Gorkss returns to Bloomfield Road for the first time since he joined Rangers in the summer.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

in total agreement with this. Of the players named above spearing seems the most unlikely to make it. the rest do have a good chance especially insua.

This lad has no luck whatsoever.

                            From RAWK

The lad suffered an injury during the match (broken cheekbones).

He was dizzying after the match and has been checked by LFC med staff this morning.

                            He needs surgery :-(

                            ...from a Hungarian site (pepsifoci.hu)

It sounds like he got a kick in the face within minutes of coming on. He received no treatment on the pitch and finished the game. Great way for Blackpool to treat a new player. You'd have thought they could tell that he'd done something serious.

                                From Nemeth's blog

"I knew that the Championship is not a playground but I didn't except that I will be injured immediately. At the beginning it was a rainfall, there was cold and fog, so it was a green light for a pure English derby. The Blackpool fans did well and the the atmosphere was superb although we were 1 down quickly, so the match didn't start brightly. The boss called me in around the 8th minute of the second half to finish the warm up because I'll come on soon.

Whereas I was changing the kit there was 2 down, because the ref gave a penalty against us, and they scored. I came on the pitch in the 57th minute and I felt happy when I heard the fans applauding me. That was my last sweet experience. I was on the pitch since 2 minutes, the first ball came to me, I jumped high, and the lad hit me by his elbow so that I lost control. I felt like all of my teeth moved. I covered my face into my hands and tried to control myself, I didn't want to fall down because it wouldn't be a decent debut. There was a few minutes while I could come back to reality and I could find the ref and the lad but neither heard my complaints."
Apparently he's having surgery on Friday and will be out for 6 weeks.
