    Reserves vs Mancs

And some good news for everyone - Degen is back

Philipp Degen will start his first game for more than two months when the reserves take on Manchester United this evening. You can watch the match live online via LFC TV from 6.30pm GMT.
The Swiss right-back has suffered a series of injuries since arriving on a free in the summer but hopes to take a step closer to first-team football by coming through tonight's game in Altringham unscathed.

The team in full is: Gulacsi, Degen, Darby (cap), Kelly, Spearing, Plessis, El Zhar, Pacheco, Ngog, Simon, Bruna. Subs: Antwi, Bouzanis, Mendy, Palsson, Weijl.

Our coverage starts at 6.30pm with David Johnson and John Durnin in the studio, while Academy coach Hughie McAuley will be part of our commentary team from 7pm.
Once again that seems like a really attacking team.

Mendy - Spanish right back of African descendant.
Palsson - Icelandic "wonder kid" just recently signed.

              Ta.

If we've got wonder kids on the bench we should be walking this league.

El Zhar playing well - showed some cracking skill on occasion, although final ball could have been better.

Degen is doing well also, although he keeps looking like he has got injured, and then the next minute he's is bombing forward on the right.

We're defo on top, but not any real chances created.

El Zhar still playing well but Utd coming back into it a bit now.
Chants of "he's cracking up, he's cracking up, Rafa's cracking up" from the mancs.

Victor Palsson making his debut. His hairline is as low a Gerrard's when he made his first team debut but no other similarities so far.

In which case probably safer to use Mellor analogies then.

His hair is tidy though. Mellor in his post-match suit looked like a farmer going for an interview.

See at least this way you get to say something positive about the new lad - Doesn't look like a farmer. We need to build them up, so that everyone can knock them down later.

Let's let him play three games for the first team before judging his future worth like we do with the rest.

Another plus is that Vincent Vale looks a fantastic prospect.
