    Rafa to sign new contract

    According to the Sunday Mirror...

Rafa Benitez will sign a new £20million four-year contract at Liverpool this week.

Co-owner Tom Hicks arrived at Anfield to tell Benitez that the valuation of transfer targets will no longer be the remit of chief exec Rick Parry. And the owners will sanction the sale of £20million misfit Robbie Keane.

Boss Benitez rejected a four-and-a-half-year contract extension because of his anger that Parry refused to pay Aston Villa £18million for Gareth Barry last summer. Instead, Parry agreed a £20million fee for Keane with Tottenham.

A source close to Hicks said: “The owners have had a number of conversations with Rafa Benitez. They agree with his view on how transfer business will be conducted. Tom Hicks and George Gillett hope to conclude the contract while they are in England.”
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

    Great News (if true).

Now lets concentrate on the football, and blow these Chav tw*ts out the water today.

****ing hell that would be a waste of £20m and a further £5m for his hangers on and backroom staff. To total **** up, how can a manager deserving of the sack get a new contract? He will be gone Christmas.

Equal 2nd in the league, progress in the Champs League with a fantastic tie against Real Madrid on the horizon & still in the FA Cup

he's made mistakes, serious ones at that, yes - but to suggest he's totally ****ed up is ludicrous to say the least even by your standards

                FLMAO.

On a related matter, does Deirdre ever bother posting when things are going well?
Remember, we're only adding to the nonsense.

Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"

I would hate to have been in the trenches with some of these..."Churchill, what does he know...were doomed...doomed i tell ya, run, run for your lives the war is lost".

                      Very funny.

By the way your team was lucky yesterday, another soft penalty.

I think we should wait until the end of the season before offering him a new contract.

If we don't win a trophy and finish seven points off the top, does anyone really want him to stay ?

The board kind of bought him time by buying Keane when he didn't want him. He should get an extension but 4 years is a bit too much maybe.
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Depends where we finish and how we end up seven points of the top. Either way I think his contract must stipulate certain goals he must acheive, which if resulting in failure would mean the sack and a minimum pay off.
                            Forwards.......

Well if true - time will tell.

                              Parry will walk I suspect.
