What an absolute JOKE.
The FA dont half come out with some bollocks....how can he not be punished for that? Surely the ref missed it so it CAN be dealt with retrospectively. Even if the linesman saw it and failed to alert the ref for such an obvious cases of petulance and foul play he should be punished. Hardly sends out the right message to the kids.'Religion is killing each other over who has the best imaginary friend'

I thought it looked like the linesman was flagging for the foul, changed his mind and signalled for a Chelsea throw in.Originally posted by leftpeg View PostI don't think so. As soon as it happened his flag went straight up over his head and got waved around frantically, which usually indicates foul play, but I'm guessing that Riley's head was up his own arse at the time and missed the whole thing.
If Bosingwa isn't going to be banned then the linesman surely will (and Riley too)

From the FAOriginally posted by kop-al-74 View PostHow the refs assistant, let alone the ref didn't see it, is the real question. What the fck was he watching?
**** the FA.Useless ****s.
In any other walk of life,Bosiwinga would face an assault charge with that kind of camera evidence.
FA statement
Monday, 02 February 2009.
The FA has confirmed that no disciplinary action will be taken against Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa.
Bosingwa was involved in an incident with Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun during the Premier League match at Anfield on 1 February.
Referee Mike Riley has informed The FA that, while he did not see the incident himself, it was seen by his assistant Mo Matadar. No action was taken against Bosingwa by the officials.
Under the FIFA Laws of the Game, The FA is prohibited from taking disciplinary action when incidents are seen at the time by the match officials.
This should amaze me but you expect it from a gutless and spineless organisation like the FA.I make no apologies, this is me

I thought the ref could change the decision on seeing the replay if he deemed he didn't take the appropriate action at the time.
Total joke of a decision
Also there's an inconsistency in the rules if the ref/FA can over turn a red card retrospectively but not punish a player retrospectivelyThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Good point. It's incredibly easy to do nothing and shift the blame.Originally posted by Chrono View PostUnder the FIFA Laws of the Game, The FA is prohibited from taking disciplinary action when incidents are seen at the time by the match officials.
Then why was this reviewed at all.
I hope they don't rescind the red card and it'd be nice to hear an explanation from the linesman.

To add insult to injury
This "you can only review it if the officials didn't see it" thing is absolute bollocks it really is. How on earth was SWP's "kick out" worse than Bosingwa's karate kickManchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips has been suspended for three matches by the Football Association.
The 27-year-old midfielder will miss Premier League games at Portsmouth, Liverpool and West Ham.
Wright-Phillips kicked Stoke's Rory Delap in the game on 31 January but it was missed by referee Martin Atkinson.
He was cleared to play against Middlesbrough on Saturday after the FA delayed taking disciplinary action against the midfielder.
606: DEBATE
Have your say on 606
Delap was shown a straight red card at the Britannia Stadium after kicking the ball at Wright-Phillips while he lay on the pitch.
Wright-Phillips retaliated by lashing out at the Stoke midfielder.
Atkinson told the FA that, having subsequently watched video footage of the incident, he would have shown the England international a red card if he had seen it at the time.
Ludicrous.

So if an official sees a foul similar to the offence that Phillips committed, and fails to produce a red card, is that official the culpable and punished by the FA for not performing his duties propery?
I ask only cos i'm curious to know who were the referees when Ronaldo had his little flick outs at players as he lay on the ground, and whether or not the FA punished them?
