Everything in that looks to me like there have been some disruptive elements behind the scene concerning Keane, and if that is the case it is best to ship him...

But we are in a bad situation now concerning the depth of our attacking squad...

TBH, if Torres gets injured, we're up the creek but that would've still been the case if Keane had stayed, IMO.
Well we seen how toothless they were at the start of the season without him, he hasnt been on form this season but he seems to still make them click. Tevez and Rooney wouldnt really be the greatest of goal scorers and Berbatov hasnt been that frightning in front of goal.

No doubt the other players are class, but for me it is Ronaldo that really does make them tick, Fergie knows it too hence his desperate need to keep him there.

Ronaldo is their biggest fear factor player by a mile, he's their best player obviously, but the fear he instils in sides before they even take to the park is immense, they know he's almost impossible to handle when in any sort of form.

Scum rely on Ronaldo more than we do Gerrard......and all we ever get is we are a one man team

Equally reliant i'd say, but yes we do hear more about our reliance on Stevie than theirs on **** face.(sorry been using the wrong name up till now).

It was true last season to a degree but not this. This season they have largely relied on the defense and despite a comparatively average season by Ronaldo have excelled. This year the real heroes have been Giggs and Scholes who have come on in many games and given them a boost and a lot of creative intelligence in second halves. They don't have the legs to do many full 90 minutes but what time they have on the pitch they have used very effectively.

I think it is one of the biggest problems we have - not having that sort of league winning experience and creativity to draw on.

When Ronaldo was out injured it looked like Giggs and Scholes had went a season to much. It wasnt until Ronaldo came back that the players above seemed to gel again. Ronaldo offers them so much up front that players like Giggs and Scholes thrive on.

Rooney has probably been United's key player this season IMO. Regardless I think we are slightly more reliant on Gerrard and now Torres than they are Ronaldo.

I know how it sounds but we are challenging for 3 compititions and we need more goalscorers. Thats what it comes down to

I would say Uniteds problems in front of goal has been down to three reasons.

                      1. Ronaldo has started the season very slowly and looked at time like he can't be bothered.

                      2. Ferguson has treated Berbatov as his number one striker and he to struggled to fire at the start of the season.

                      3. Obviously with Berba starting every game this has meant in a break in the partnership between the hugely successfull Rooney and Tevez pairing. Fergie at first tried to play all three, but this proved a disaster (they lost 2-1 to us and were played of the park after the first ten minutes).

                      ----------------

Man Utd obviously have to hope that pretty soon Ronaldo and Berbatov will improve, because their defense will not hold out forever. Signs are good for them though, Ronaldo seems to be getting better, as does Berbatov.
                      Forwards.......

When was he out injured - other than the first few games of the season? He and United started poorly last season too.

Just a thought but we sold Keane back for £15m.

If we had waited until the end of the season, im sure Spurs would have still paid the £15m? Fair enough he aint done much since he has been here, but surely he would have been decent backup for Gerrard?

The only other thing i can assume is that Rafa wanted him out due to a falling out. Pennant did comment when he left that 'a lot of the non-foriegn players are disgruntled'.

Pennant had no reason to be disgruntled - he was absolute dog ****e. If he was good enough, turned up for training on time and made an effort he may have played more.

Because a player cannot depreciate that much in 5 months
