With Alonso and Gerrard out for the Pompey game, our midfield will consist of Mascherano and Lucas. Correct me if I am wrong but Lucas's suspension will be against Villa or Man City.

Torres looks knackered - can't blame him, the guy hasn't played for so many games and starts five consecutive games. Penalties is our best chance of winning it unless Everton are stupid enough to throw everything at us and get caught on the break.

part of me thinks he might come good with time but most of me thinks that Italy aren't that great anymore are they? particularly defensively. So what if he's first choice left back - Maldini prevented anybody from developing in that role for the last 15 years so it's no surprise there's a lack of depth there. I hope I'm wrong I really do but right now I'd take Aurelio and Insua (who will be great) ahead of him

I don't know why he keeps getting the nod? Fair enough, the lads young and he needs experience but he's been very poor and Rafa is keeping the faith far more than others have experienced.

Its had a bit of bite to it though, which sort of makes up for what it lacks in other areas.
