    Well the first excuse appears

Liverpool's beaten boss Rafael Benitez revealed captain Steven Gerrard will have a scan on Thursday to determine the extent of the hamstring injury that forced him off.

He said: "We do not really know yet. Steven was tired, and he gets injured.

"He was tired, too, at Wigan but when I took him off there everyone was saying he had to play every single minute of every match. Now you have seen the consequences.

"He asked to be taken off, you could see at Wigan he was struggling and the same thing happened here."
So I'm guessing we're to blame. Well I've punished myself by not having lunch at work today. How bout you lot.

I had 2 cadbury creme eggs today instead of just 1.

        Agreed.

Although i would be nice to win, i honestly aint that bothered. Iv got a sneaky feeling it will be a blessing in disguise in terms of match fitness.

Lets now concentrate on the Premiership and Europe. We may not win either, but we also have a chance of winning both so lets give it our best shot.

I would have been disappointed this season if we did nothing in the Premiership or Europe but won the FA Cup.

True as long as long as this doesn't effect confidence for the League & Champs League.
Also I can't believe how their fans went bananas like they'd just won a trophy or something! They'll probably release another DVD now even though they won't win jack...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

That's far more likely to be a dig at the media than the fans.

There's a line between criticising the manager's decisions and criticising his integrity and you just crossed it. Still, you're not alone, sadly.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It is a dig at the media, why do some fans and posters on here think that Rafa is replying to their critisisams of him, like he reads this forum and really cares what Rashid, Joe King, Elvoz and the others think.

[QUOTE=JohnDoe;1269879]You've got to laugh at Everton, even if they won, they celebrated like they've actually done something. So they beat us at extra time, with an extra man and without our captain.

Agreed. You'd swear they'd won the Champions League/. They are such a little club. Pity they didn't beat us in the 90 minutes though.

Does that really matter though? We didn't beat Milan in 90 minutes. Or extra time.

I think he just wishes we hadn't had to play the extra minutes to be fair.

I think he's right. How much abuse did he get for taking Gerrard off 2 games ago and now he's done his hamstring, an injury that is caused in large part to over exertion.

I don't really think he's having a go at the fans either, you're just choosing to look at it like that. It's a perfect example of the lose/ lose situation that he finds himself in with pretty much every decision he makes these days. Just goes to show what a fine man and manager he is that he can work under such conditions.

To be honest it is getting quite depressing to see how vitriolic our supporters can be in their criticism of our own players and manager. Heaven knows how bad it would be if we were to be as low as say 3rd in the league.

What a match last night. Both teams were shocking. I have seen better football played in the park. Fair play to the fans who tried to keep it interesting. More negative football from Liverpool last night. Yes we lost Gerard early on, but we were playing Evertons reserve team. They showed more fight and hunger for the game and that is why they won it, not because we had a man sent off, as when Lucas plays we only play with ten anyway. A great result against Chelsea and a good performance, why not put the same team out and keep the momentum going? Benitez is really starting to piss me off.

1.Riena: Had little to do but did it well especially the double save. 7/10
2.Dossena: Tried to get forward but his crossing was shocking. 3/10
3.Carra: Little to do but did it well. 7/10
4.Skrtel: Carried the ball forward Agger style and defended well. 7/10
5.Arbeloa: Defended OK for 118 minutes. Was lost for the goal. 5/10
6.Riera: Started brightly and faded rapidly. 5/10
7.Alonso: Misplaced a number of passes but was always the one looking for the ball, got hacked time and time again yet never complained. 6/10
8.Lucas: Was doing OK (by his standards) and then gets sent off. Someone please tell him that his brain is available for collection at aisle 2. 4/10
                            9. Kuyt: Gave 100%. Used the ball well, unfortunately everyone around him was quite poor and it eventually rubbed off. 6/10
                            10. Gerrard: Not on long enough to rate. Pray his injury is minor.
                            11. Torres: Didn't look interested from the first whistle and constantly moaned to the ref. If this was Keane he would of been slaughtered on EST1892. Hopefully a one off. 2/10
                            12. Babel: Never received a decent ball. Not on long enough to rate.
                            13. Mascherano: Had little to do. Not on long enough to rate.
                            14. Benayoun: Tried his best and was the only one that looked like creating anything, put some nice passes together and worked back well. 7/10

And finally Rafa: Should of gone with the team that bossed Chelsea, never changed things when we never looked like scoring, only made subs in desperation. Has us playing real negative football. Will probably come out with another rash statement that were better off out of the FA cup. I personally love the FA cup and love cup final day so I'm pissed that were wont be in it. 3/10

I can sort of understand it during the match, but afterwards … some people really should get a grip.

Do you think Barcelona, Man Utd, Inter Milan, Real Madrid etc would fail to beat them in three consecutive attempts?
