But the old format was hopelessly biased towards the big clubs. I'm not saying it wasn't better in some ways but looking back the old footage and camera angles were crap comparatively for example and from my childhood I only ever remember seeing games with us, United and Spurs in which is hardly a decent perspective on the league."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I dunno i prefer the newer format personally.Originally posted by Tee View PostDisagree mate.
The format of MOTD for example has changed for the worse IMO. Now you get every game with ****ty 5 minute ****e highlights. Before it used to be 2 main matches with decent 10-20 miute highlights of each match, then maybe a goals round up of the remaining games. Much better IMO.
I remember staying awake watching MOTD and we'd be on right at the end with a 30 second clip
On the whole though i don't really watch MOTD any more, i'll either have seen the match or watch extended highlights on SKY sunday morning. We come not to play.

Only the BBC offer that in big games i.e. summer tournaments, England games, FA Cup finals. 5 Live are far better with commentary than any of the television stations.Originally posted by dww View PostI don't really think there was some halcyon days of great coverage. I just think that the 24 hour nature of game coverage has made things become more story orientated.
I think it is sad that in depth analysis and getting behind the headline is not given more effort. With all the time Sky for example give to football you would think they could have put together a package on zonal marking or got a single pundit with genuine experience to analyse the pros/cons.
I also wish freeview/satellite gave you the option of synced radio commentary.
This is how our coverage would have been like with Alan Green commentating on Sunday's victory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLlGv0LDTFk

I heard he commentates on MUtv.Originally posted by wiw View PostIs Tyldsley a Manc? It always confuses me when they commentate on FA Cup etc cos they make me think it's a CL game
Why don't the Beeb bid for Champions League games? Surely they would do a better job. It could be money problem.
