Why don't the Beeb bid for Champions League games? Surely they would do a better job. It could be money problem.
ITV probably get a hell of a lot of cash from firms wanting to place adverts at half time etc so it'd be much more self financing for them than the BBC.

He is indeed a dirty manc - it's only recently he seems to have managed to stop talking about the famous treble of '99 in every game he works.

However in his earlier days I believe he worked for Radio City so he's a bit of a double agent.

I'm glad to here he's managed to kick his constant references to '99 into touch.

        Filthy habit.

Although I'm sure he has mentioned it at least once this season.

As did Richard Keys if I remember correctly. And Elton Welsby.

          Whatever happened to Elton Welsby?

He wasn't hairy enough to make the transition to the Sky era. Richard Keys ate him and used his hair to increase his already virile appearance.

They are the far away the most cuntish commentators around - not because they are anti-liverpool just because they are ******s and speak moronic ****e constantly.

I'd like to reiterate that I do not think they are particuarly against LFC etc etc they are just cunts.

If I met them, I'd like to think I'd kill them both - cunts
I watched it on Setanta because I didn't realise that it was on ITV - I try not to watch ITV anyway because it's the devil's sperm..

but any way if you think those two are bad you should have heard the setanta team. Just about managed to make the observation that both sets of fans wanted to win this game..

Sheesh - surprised they got past the "a football is a round" observation.
                        Really?

I'm sure he was a pleasant enough fella, God rest him, but his commentaries were utterly banal. I don't once recall him saying anything insightful in the 30 years that I listened to him.

I was a but a wee nipper during his halcyon days. I wasn't after insight. I just wanted someone who sounded really genuinely excited about it all. And I liked the sound of his voice. Same reasons I also loved the much-maligned Baz Davies.
