    A Gary Mac like signing...

In some other thread I (brilliantly) posted that we needed a 'Gary-Mac-like signing', in Jan to give us a title push. I hoped to get away with that description, but someone pushed me for a modern day example.

    Here are the requirements
    Midfielder
    Mature/experienced
Understands the midfield with a slight bent toward attacking intelligence
    Aging, so maybe cheap-ish

    Someone suggested Beckham...which is close.
It may have taken me some time, but here is my suggestion :

    1) Who is it?
    2) Who do you suggest to better fit the above requirements
"Sir, it's me sir. Jennings sir."

    Fook knows who that is!

    stopcheating.gif!!!! *******!

On a more serious note I would have said someone like Tugay would be a good G-Mac like signing, but he might be just a little too old now. Still a great player though!

Actually - is that Clarence Seedorf? Good shout if so, but I don't think he'll come cheap as AC have no need to sell and still rate him highly.
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

I think that we're more in need of a geniune attacking threat for the right side rather than a central player. Don't think that we're too badly stocked there to be honest.

Seedorf is an interesting shout actually.
He would be above the other options I've seen suggested (Beckham and Vieira).

I would add that if we get a signing like this now we need them to have league winning experience IMO.

Clarence Seedorf causes more problems than does any good.

He constantly criticises his own players in the media, has a record of fighting in the Holland team - literally. Quite a disruptive figure.

no way, I know Davids was the more disruptive player within the Dutch squad
They've won the league, bigger stars than Dallas, they've got more silver than Buckhingham Palace, no one knows quite what to expect, when the Red Machine's in full effect!

Seedorf is a fantastic shout. Really is.

Only problem is, who would we leave out to include him?

Personally I would have gone with Viera and dropped Mascherano - sounds crazy I know but Mascher looks a shadow of himself this season. Viera would fit in alongside Xabi / Stevie and he would give us that bit more creativity in midfield than Mascher or Lucas, but still be able to play defensively for Rafa.

Forget Vieira, Cambiasso would do a good job.

                        Why would Seedorf come here?

                        Not an option.

But has Cambiasso won the PL? Viera knows what it takes.

Cambiasso is way too defensive. He passes backwards all the time and hardly ever scores.
