I'd personally go for Riquelme. I admittedly haven't seen him play for a good year or so but he'd be perfect for us and we could shift Gerrard out right. He wouldn't have to run much, he could do what he does best finding space and keeping the ball as if his life depended on it. Takes set-pieces as well. We'd obviously have to alter our style a bit, plus it's never going to happen

Hows about we save the cash and get someone who is gonna be a legend at LFC, not a has been.

Gary Mac worked because he was British, got on with the players, worked hard and was a classy player with the ball at his feet.

All the players mentioned on here are for one foreign and for another they are ball winners, the players who one upon a time did the donkey work for the creative players, such as a Gary Mac.

They are not players who would change the team for the best. We have arguably the best ball winner in world football in Mascherano. Why the **** play a slowed down version. Viera was great at his peak, but he's way past his best.

Of any players mentioned Henry would be the best bet, but I'd rather put the £12m towards an Augero.

Trust me, the only worthwhile options are either at Man Utd or Chelsea, and I don't see us signing them anytime soon. The best players when Chelsea won the league were Terry, Lampard and Cech. None of them had experience. The only one in the squad with it was Makalele, who was not very influential in the dressing room or within the squad.

All the talk of experience is just bollocks really. All you need to do is beat the teams you come up against, and a has been player like Viera would not help **** all.

What LFC need is the current senior players like Carra and Gerrard to show some ****ing bottle and get the players motivated on the pitch. And if you're referring to big game players, I don't know any better than Gerrard.

As long as the players don't listen to ****ing Joe King after every dodgy game they'll be fine.
        Forwards.......

Interesting angle on the preference for a younger player.

However Gary Mac's success was more due to his classiness on the ball than his Britishness. I am not sure that the nationality is important IF IT IS THE RIGHT PLAYER.

Also you refer to Viera twice...remember the player we are discussing as a model for the requirements in this thread is Seedorf.
