I watched it yesterday and found I disagreed with every single statement he came out with (ecstasy, climate change, truancy). He is an odious scumbag who makes a living from opposing common sense.

All it takes for evil to prevail, is for good men to do nothing.

      Or words to that effect.

mackensie is a scumbag and although the BBC is not my national broadcaster I have emailed then to voice my disgust at their continued use of him as a panelist on Question Time
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

Last time it was because he was on radiold 5 live, now it's QT. They would seem to be more interested in him than ever. Sometimes i think you just have to accept private anger.
Tell that to Anne Williams and the rest of the families of the 96.

There's some truth in what you say about him being employed precisely because of his reputation for provoking outrage. But that's more of a reason to protest about it, given the BBC's remit as a publically accountable broadcaster.

It may not work (although there are clearly precedents of viewer complaints influencing the Beeb's decision-making), but as long as he still has a pulse don't expect me to sit by without expressing my opinion as forcefully as I can and encouraging others to do the same. And if it makes just one person at the BBC reconsider their approach to who they employ, or even just allows the discussion to be had, then to me it's a worthwhile exercise.

Thanks to (almost) everyone, I have had a standard response from them, but I would encourage everyone to complain, I mean it takes 5 minutes and why not?

            Done:

I would like to complain over the choice of Kelvain MacKenzie to appear on Question Time. This man is responsible for printing lies as to the events at Hillsborough in 1989. To remind you, he sanctioned the printing of an article which claimed that my surviving friends urinated on my dead friends, and stole from them. These remarks caused untold distress to the families and friends of the victims of that tragedy, and you have chosen to remind us of that distress. There has yet to be a proper retraction of these comments, despite these allegations being proven to be utterly false. Moreover, despite in the proof, MacKenzie has chosen on a number of occassions to stand by these remarks. I would expect that the BBC is congratulating itself for choosing 'edgy' guests for Question Time (whilst at the same time disciplining a member of staff for making inappropriate remarks to an old man..). I do not see it this way, I see it as the BBC choosing to employ a liar who's very presence on TV offends an entire city. Will you be inviting David Irving to discuss Holocaust denial next? that would be quite edgy - don't you think?

Tell you what mate, it means something to me, and it should mean something to you. Russel Brand was sacked after 30000 complaints for far less then Mackenzie has done?

If you complained instead of telling me to stop wasting my time, we might get somewhere. Its my time and I dont think complaining about this liar after what he has done is wasting it.

Just like you clearly dont think telling us to boycott Isreali products is wasting time either.

So complain to the BBC or dont bother replying.

                the reply i got was...

We note your concerns regarding Kelvin MacKenzie contributing to 'Question Time' on 12 February.

'Question Time' considers him to be a suitable panellist since the programme is committed to including a wide range of views and perspectives. His views can be controversial - but robust argument is what the debate on 'Question Time' is all about. There is no question of the BBC or 'Question Time' endorsing the views of any panellist who appears on the programme.

Please be assured, however, that we have registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and also their senior management. It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

                Regards

Maybe an intelligent and intellectual LFC fan should take the opportunity to 'Question' the Scum Bag on this issue while on the show, although i doubt it would be allowed somehow, relevant topics and all that, or some similar excuse would be used i imagine.
