What's Your Preferred Centre Back Pairing?

With this speculation about Agger being unhappy, who would you want as your the first choice centre backs?

Is Carra undroppable?

Does Agger's elegance and ability sway it for you?

Do you prefer Skrtel's uncompromising physical style?

Difficult one really. But one has to generally miss out.

I think Carragher is vital in the short-term, but hope that in the not too distant future Agger and Skrtel will form a formidable centre back pairing.

Carragher is far and away the better defender at the moment and is vital to the organization of the defence.

When both Skrtel and Agger are at their best I'd take Agger, as he's the better ball playing centre back, ideal partner for Carragher.

For me when they are all on top of their game it has to be Carra and Agger just

Carra and Agger for me...

Carra's experience and organizational skills are to valuable to leave him out. A defence of agger + skrtel would miss that essential part IMO.

I still think agger is the superior defender to skrtel in almost every aspect except heading. So for me getting him back in form and playing him next to would be my first option.

I'm suprised at the results are so close at the moment. I thought it would be close between Carra/Agger and Carra/Skrtel I'm suprised Agger/Skrtel is up there. For me Carragher is the one who organises the defence and everyone takes their positions from him so he has to be in there on that basis. I would partner him with Agger as I think they compliment each other well. I rate Skrtel but I see him as being a similar player to Carragher.

Hopefully the Skrtel/Agger partnership is the future but both can learn from Carragher in the mean time

Carragher and Skrtel. What Skrtel lacks in pure technical ability which Agger is blessed with, he makes up for pure aggression which I am a fan of with centre backs and something we need.

Agger and Skrtel, given the time will form a formidable partnership although if they both stay, one will need to grow some and become a leader at the back.

It may be simplistic but I'd like to see Agger play against teams that are likely to just want to defend against us. He can become a supplementary midfielder with his ball carrying/passing ability, and help unlock those packed defences.

It's a great problem to have but Skrtel is owning the 2nd CB slot at the minute. I don't think it's that cut and dried and I hate to see one of them (Agger, obv) suffering and drifting towards the exit door due to a lack of playing time.

On current form it would have to be the first option for me. Agger is a great CB but not on current form. Hopefully it's just temporary, as i'm sure he and Skittles will be our long term CB pairing.
