Potential CL quarter-final 2nd leg falls on 20th anniversary of Hillsborough

Liverpool FC has requested UEFA spare them a potential fixture clash with the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
If the Reds overcome Real Madrid in their two legged last 16 clash, they could be asked to play the second leg of the quarter-final on Wednesday April 15 - 20 years to the day since 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives at Hillsborough.

Liverpool have therefore asked for their game to be played 24 hours earlier on the Tuesday night, ensuring players, staff and supporters will be able to pay their tributes to the 96 at the anniversary memorial service at Anfield.

A Liverpool FC spokesman confirmed: "We wrote to Uefa last year, pointing out the significance of April 15 if we do get to the quarter final, especially as it is the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

"We have asked not to play on that date and that April 14 should be considered instead.

"Uefa has replied acknowledging the significance of the date and confirming they will do their best to support our request if we progress."

Even though UEFA dont like us, surely they'll still have enough about them to grant this request, should we progress.

Although knowing them, they'll probably just instruct their referee to ensure we dont eliminate Real Madrid.

There is no excuse not too. If the Milan’s can get fixtures changed because they share a stadium, surely UEFA can show some compassion here.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

They show compassion to their favourites. They'll just fix it so we lose to Madrid.

Everyone knows that the UEFA board aren't human but are horrible little beady eyed creatures from Mars.

And as we all know horribly little beady eyed creatures from Mars tend to support Manchester United so we shouldn't be too surprised.

I see no need to bring Mick Hucknall into this.

He's the most horrible little beady eyed creature of them all.

But to be fair he has no known association with UEFA.

You never actually see them together though, do you?
                            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Excellent point Mr. Young. When was the last time anyone saw Mick Hucknall and UEFA in the same room?
