    Crouch

Must start the next game. Every time he has played this season he has impressed, and has looked like England's brightest player today (not a daunting task, I know). I must say I was disappointed not to see him start against Bolton after putting a great performance in for us in the midweek and although he may have been "fatigued" (absolute bollocks, in my opinion) I would have liked to have seen him on the pitch.

I am intrigued to see how a striking partnership of Kuyt and Crouch would work. Many have suggested that it is an incompatible front pair, but I genuinely believe, from what I have seen from him, that Kuyt is versatile enough to play furthur up the pitch and find himself getting onto the end of some passes and knock-downs from Crouchy. Fitness permitting, anybody think Rafa might opt for this next match?

I thought his partnership with Kuyt early on against Gala looked good, wasnt too much play between the two of them as a pairing, but their physical presence will always cause teams a problem.
Playing against Blackburn, im not sure who i would pick, I think Kuyt would be a definate starter.

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Its actually sad when im not to inculde Robbie in the talks about who to play against blackburn, maybe Rafa will give us a suprise though off the back of the international matches, Robbie and Kuyt may be a good option, we could certainly do alot worse than start with that as a pairing.

I would have thought Robbie was a cert to start against Blackburn.

Good post from Nick to start the thread. Crouch has looked pretty good in most games this season to be fair to the lad.

Absolutely. Blackburn's defence would have some task trying to track a pair of strikers with the sort of quality these two possess in running and overall game intelligence. I would put out as strong a team as possible against Blackburn with a midfield of Gerrard, Alonso, Momo and Gonzales, all of whom are capable of supplying Kuyt and Fowler with quality deliveries.

Yeah, thats one thing your guarinteed with Robbie and Kuyt is intelligence.
I do worry about Robbies future role at the club though, I heard he looked pretty unhappy playing for the reserves last time out, clould be a statement that he may be ablout to play a game soon for the first team though, as rafa likes to play the kids in reserve games.

A lot of the reserve team were made up of the non-international first team squad so I imagine Rafa just wanted to stretch his legs a bit and keep him wily. I think it is a case of patience with Robbie, he is going to have to wait to get his chance but it will come sooner or later. I personally don't think we have been able to even quantify his value to the team this season with the strikers before him in the pecking order, but I'm positive Rafa has a part in his plan for him

Starting? England sent us all to sleep after 60 mins, worked a treat it did, waiting patiently for the game to start after an hour is not recommended!

I recorded it for bedtime later on, much better than counting sheep.
