I think Fabio is a better player than Evra but he gets injured a lot. It has to be said that Evra's got his fair share of injuries also. For me I wouldn't swap Fabio with Evra as Fabio is a much better footballer, albeit Evra has more pace.

Well let's wait where we are when the season finishes then. I expect us to close the gap on United instead of failing away and falling 15 points far off. Our home record has cost us a lot of points and we haven't been helped by having Torres missing for a large part of the season and even then, he's not been fully fit. United did very badly without Ronaldo at the start, so journos saying that they have a far better squad than ours is a bit far fetched IMO.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostThats where our opinions differ. I think we're as far away from Utd as we've ever been. Yes we're second but had chelsea been up to their usual standard they'd be ahead of us. Points wise I think we'll be around 15 adrift of Utd come May. Thats a massive gap. I don't think we've really challenged them. Being top at Christmas means **** all. Nothing gets handed out.
Thats my take.
They may be better, but it's a marginal difference for me. The difference may reside in their huge experience with players such as Scholes, Neville and Giggs who have been invaluable to them this season.

- for arguments sake - we have been without a fully fit on form torres all season!!!! - if he had produced anything like he did last season we would be 10 points clear regardless of the mancs and chelsea.

we lack the ability to break teams down that play to stifle our play. We get out "liverpooled" or out "rafaed" so to speak.
When rafa addes the ability to break a team down playing with 11 players behind the ball then IMO we will win the prem.
Thats why we can beat Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal, but fail to beat Stoke, fulham etc.

We should have had more points if we had a fully fit Torres and a better Robbie Keane.Originally posted by ntto View Postwe lack the ability to break teams down that play to stifle our play. We get out "liverpooled" or out "rafaed" so to speak.

exactly , small margins.Originally posted by fredo View PostWe should have had more points if we had a fully fit Torres and a better Robbie Keane.
We have only got 2 world class attacking threats.....gerrard and torres. IF they had both been fit most of the season we would have made a few draws into wins i am sure.
Scholes and Giggs are defying the odds and seem to be playing superbly, wish they would just both **** off.
There dynasty has to end soon......fergiescum and there over 33 brigade have to call it a day in next couple of years_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

It works both ways, if he cant get the team performing in the league, he deserves criticism, just like he deserves credit for when he DOES get them performing. It's a results business and always will be.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostWhy is it that it's Rafa's fault when we play ****e in the Prem but it's his tactical genius that helps us do so well in Europe?
I completely & utterly disagree as our players only want to turn up for European games, it's madness! We should just play the CL theme before EVERY Premier League game & we will win virtually every one of them!!!

And of course Rafa has to take some of the credit for when we do well in Europe but why is it his fault when those same players play Reall off the park in their own back yard can't even beat Stoke, West Ham, Fulham or Man City at home - amazing!

I'm sorry but most of the blame has to go to some of the players themselves...It works both ways, if he cant get the team performing in the league, he deserves criticism, just like he deserves credit for when he DOES get them performing. I agree with regards to Torres. He was massive for us last season, an to be where we are this season pretty much without a decent striker for the majority of the season is pretty good.President of the Ban Smileys Society
