Quite possibly not, but it could be argued that it does have relevance.

TBH I was just trying to elicit from Ben / Joe why he thinks the Barwick link is so preposterous.

Its come from Shankslegend on RAWK who is awful with stories.

Personally, I wouldn't have Barwick at the club. Yes, he has a lot of friends in the media however his work in the FA has been disappointing and he has no real experience of controlling the finance at a football club. We need someone with business contacts and someone who is business savvy and won't be involved with the politics surrounding the club, ideally someone who doesn't support the club.

We need someone like Ivan Gazidis, someone who has sports business knowledge rather than someone with half credentials who might be a fan of the club. Business to sport is a totally different dimension - we need someone who is ruthless in the market and will back Benitez with true figures the club has. I personally felt Parry was a bit soft and couldn't deal with other chairmen (see Keane transfer)

Ofcourse I want someone who has the right credentials for the job but at same time if the individual is someone who also loves the club then we can be sure that he will give it 100%

Look at Laporta at Barcelona, Dein at Arsenal, Berlusconi at Milan, Real Madrid etc etc. They are run by people who love their club and want whats best for it.

To think that being a Liverpool fan would be a negative is just silly. Its bad enough we have 2 owners who have absolutely no connection to the club, having a chief executive who is not just their for the salary would be beneficial

The system at Barcelona and Real Madrid is totally different. They are elected so obviously they are fans of the club. Also, they are presidents rather than chief execs of the club which is a totally different role. Dein is someone I would recommend for the club and he did do a terrific job at Arsenal, I'll agree with that point.

Its not that being a Liverpool fan would be a negative, its just preferable. We need someone who is doing a fantastic job, I think so far Ian Ayre has done a terrific job with the commercial side of Liverpool. I don't think he is a Liverpool fan. I don't think David Gill before he joined Manchester United was a United fan yet he has done a good job. What I am suggesting is that we need someone who doesn't have preconceptions of the club to make judgements of either the owners or the manager.

If Parry had too much power then more than one person should replace him.

                        Houllier and Evans...
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think we have a number of people (or at least jobs in the club) to mean that the responsibility could be shared amongst them. For a start Rafa obviously wants some of his transfer work, the academy director in conjunction with Rafa and Ablett should be in control of the development process, Ian Ayre is handling the commercial side. We need a CEO who can communicate with the finance and footballing sides of teh business and oversee the overall operation of the club and act as a buffer between whoever owns us and those running the club day to day.

There is only one man who can replace Parry and get us out of this mess!
