Is he a great manager - for sure? Will he perform better than Rafa in the league - I think so too. But will he get us the league in a season - I am not that sure. Let us not keep unrealistic hopes on anyone - shall we. Thats what got us into this position.

That was not the point of my post. Too many people are placing their faith on Mourinho as if he is some kinda Wenger plus Paisley plus Ferguson. He has not exactly shown that he can build a PL winning team on a fixed budget. He has worked wonders ( the chelsea team in his first 2 years were monstrous) in a good setup. We are far away from a good set up. We have a set up where the owners have to ask Aston ****ing Villa chairman to check on how much power to allocate to the manager. We have a setup where the manager has to plead through the press to get as much power as David Moyes.

So let us not place unrealistic expectations on anyone. Thats all I am saying. On every message board people are looking for messiahs to win us the PL : some say Mourinho, some say Hiddink and for some Capello. Messiahs wont help us develop a team which will challenge and win the PL regularly.
A streamlined organization ( on and off the pitch) where everyone has works tirelessly to play their part in ensuring we are the champions will win us the PL - with a messiah type figure on the top .

We are so far away from that. IN the last 19 years we have tried pretty much everything - bring back a former legend who will inspire pride, bring back a bootroom legend, appoint foreign managers and we have not done one thing which is absolutely needed. For that all our management and board members need to do is drive less than 50 miles and observe the Man U set up and act accordingly.

The fact is, I genuinely believe that under Rafa we can be the best team in the league. Sadly, at the moment, we simply aren't. Yes, we have scraped by, getting wins that possibly we didn't deserve - when Utd do this, it's the sign of champions..when we do it, it's cos we're **** and lucky

His whole reign so far has been set against a backdrop of limited funds, rebuilding, in-house fighting and impatient fans who know better - all of which making his job harder

People refer to us as being like Newcastle..well..this has **** all to do with Rafa. He wants the best for LFC and he wants to win. He's outed the Yanks as being cunts, he's outed Parry as being imcompetent - why? because they're ****ing up our chances

They were the best team by far and could be said in Europe along with Barcelona. They had 22 players all who could cover and play in the team, we don't have that. Our best 11 is the only amount of depth we have.

We have been punching above our weight this season, this was never meant to be the season where we were going to win the title however whats not good to see is that the team is imploding right in front of us. All this talk about the team finishes very good looks like bollocks to me.

Benitez has had limited funds - give me a break, old, tired argument. I'm sure Craig H will give you the figures of wasted money on crap talent.

We will be the next Spurs or Newcastle until we get something done asap. I believe Benitez won't win us the title, he doesn't understand the league. He thinks its like Italy or Spain where a lack of pace can be papered over by technique and tactical analysis hence why we do better in the Champions League, there is a lack of pace in those matches.
