    Prem and Champions League

Is it possible to have a team that is equally efficient in the premier league and the champions league?

United played and currently use that system. Don't blame the system, blame the players and the manager.

Pretty daft question to ask really.

Looking at this question, raises a few points. Firstly, United have done it recently in England. Barcelona did it in Spain and Porto have done it in Portugal, so it is achievable. Secondly, the term 'equally efficient' With the structure of the Champions League, you can pretty much get away with being poor and going through the first couple of stages. This season United have only won two games in the competition so far, drawing the rest of them out of seven games which isn't a hugely impressive stat but they are still in the competition. Thirdly, the Premiership and the Champions League are two totally different types of games played at different speed, intelligence and intensity which is why it is frustrating to Liverpool fans because they can beat the likes of Inter, Barcelona and Real Madrid away but not Hull, Fulham and West Ham at home.

Do I think this Liverpool side is good enough to win both? Nope, we are set up to be a more European cup competition side with the lack of pace we have, the organisational skills from back to front. In the Premiership, if we were to be a bit more adventurous and add a heck load of pace, we wouldn't be in the position we are at the moment.

So to round off, the only team I can see winning those two cups is Manchester United, unfortunately. How lucky would I be if I get away from them cretins at uni next year?

Ok maybe the word possible was the wrong word to use. But the fact that the mancs can replace class with class makes/made a massive difference. We dont have this, yet we are probably one of, if not the most feared teams in europe.

So is the only reason were not good enough in the prem because we dont have the players or because the manager/players approach the game differently?

Fair enough. Question answered. Just wondered what everyones point of view was in the differences of our team in both competitions. How i raised the quesition was just piss poor. I apologise for any inconviencience caused.

It's because our manager's main priority is to avoid defeat, rather than to win games.
