    What do we need?

well more than anything i'd say we need a change of system for the league, our system is proven to work in europe. its all well and good getting wingers that can beat a man but we rarely have more than one target in there for the cross anyway. a new striker aint gonna help if we only ever play one (but we do need a better backup for torres than our current options. ditch the two holding players in midfield.

new players in the current system will make little difference a new system would have more success.

I think a top RW (Ribery?), possibly LW(?) and Villa.
We could also do with a player who has a premiership medal and give the lads an extra yard come the finishing line imo. (Henry anyone?)

I cant seem to figure out which 23m Striker we had that is slow and **** as well? Is he talking about Torres(Who cost us 20m-23m depending on who you believe and Minus Garcia going the other way)? Is he talking about Kuyt (Who cost us 10m)?
Or how about Keane (Who cost us 18m-20m depending on who you believe)?

Note to Joe king - do some adding up before talking through your arsehole.
Pretty sure he was referring to the combined total of those 3 mate

Yeah, made a massive profit - a whole £2m. With all the trouble he did cause off the pitch and his head not being in it, it wasn't worth the transfer.
I was simply stating that he scored an absolute ****load of goals in Holland, more so than RVN. For every RVN there is a Kezman, I realise that, but we bought a player with an outstanding goalscoring record. Jeez, you're such a moron Rafa

So ****ing what, seriously, for such a trouble causing player, £2m wasn't bad then was it? The fact is we needed a striker with a bit of pace for the short-term and within our budget. This then allowed us to sign Torres - so in my eyes it was worth the transfer

Evidently we didn't win the title that season so you weren't satisfied with anything

Don't take this personally as it's not meant as a dig but those you have mentioned would cost us somewhere in the region of £55-60million thats 25m each for Ribery and Villa if I'm being generous and a token gesture for Henry.

It's just never going to happen as long as you, me and everyone else has got a hole in their ass.

Even if we do get another world class forward in will he be able to play alongside Torres? I thought Keane would be good for us - he could get goals with Torres and play when Torres was injured. Yet it didn't work out that way and wasn't really tried. I am sure it is well documented elsewhere on this site, but why Keane was let go when he was is beyond me. Then I read Rafa syas Torres' injuries cost us the league - why drop Keane after 3 in 2? Don't get it.

Nobody mentioned a goalkeeper, if Pepe gets crocked we are fooked.

Preferably a winger which can play on the left or right. And a top class striker.

Most of Rafa's average buys can at least be justified, Bellamy was necessary at the time, and to be fair scored in the Nou Camp and was sold for a profit. Crouch was a brave buy, that most frowned on, but he established himself for England during his LFC career and was sold on, begrudgingly, for a profit.

How can you possibly call Kuyt a bad transfer? I understand he's not everybody's cup of tea, and at times infuriating, but he's been priceless in some massive games. In fact, he's been integral to some great runs in Europe, and our outstanding run in the league from August to December.

Unfortunately, the most important signings over the last 5 years are the ones that Rafa didn't get, due to the apparent incompetence of members of the board/owners/C.E.O. Namely, Alves, Simao, Vidic & Barry. Add those names to the squad and take out some of the 'second choices', and we'd have one hell of a team.

No probs Birdman but the question was "Sooooooooooooo what do we need??????".
In my opinion thats what we need. I know, just as well as you, we have as much chance of us signing all these players as we do if we were to stick our 1987-88 team in a time capsule and bring them all back (forward?) to 2009/10

One of them players would do me but if I was pinned down and told to choose, Id go for Ribbery and try for Henry for prem title experience.

                              What we needed last season:

                              Two new full backs.

                              Two new wingers

A target man to replace Peter Crouch.

There may be a few more but at the top of my head, these players were sooooo "world class" and Jose clearly got the best out of them didnt he.

You have an agenda and it is starting to piss a lot of people off here.
You and Joe King sing from the same Hymn sheet and are in a minority in this forum.
                                Doesnt that tell you something?

                                (B) You are talking from Joe Kings Ringpiece

Stop talking bollocks, get behind the manager and team or go support United you glory hunting fool.
My 'agenda' is that i want LFC to be the best that they can. I never called those players world class, in fact i specifically stated that you dont need the players to be 'world class'.

I support Liverpool FC, not Rafa Benitez FC. Maybe my hymn sheet is one which reads that i want us to be the best, not 3rd best.

To me, your opinion is bollocks which comes from your ringpiece as well. Your 'go and support someone else if you want the best for LFC' attitude is starting to piss me off too. What can we do eh?

If you accept failure to get the best out of our squad, that's your lookout.
