You can't even add five figures?

If you wanted to prove your point, you should increase the number, not the other way around...

Yeah, I know your average spend is correct

      2004/05 £11m Sold: Owen, Murphy

2005/06 £14m Sold: Diouf, Diarra, Nunez, Baros

2006/07 £14.45m Sold: Morientes, Traore, Kromkamp, Kirkland, Warnock, Pongolle

2007/08 £30.4m Sold: Garcia, Cisse, Bellamy, Gonzalez, Paletta, Sissoko

2008/09 £36.5m Sold: Riise, Crouch, Guthrie, Carson, Keane

      Total £106.35m

In true terms of selling players, (because he didn't sign Owen, Murphy, Riise, Cisse, Traore, Kirkland, Baros, Diouf, Diarra, Pongolle) Benitez's selling of players only total up to £61.2m

Errrrm excuse me for not being a silly little boy but if he's had to sell them to fund his buys then there's no logic for them being excluded from such a comparison. Silly boy.

So going off your stats Rafa's spent a tad over £79mil at an average of around £15mil per year. ****ing hell I'm convinced, give him a new deal. Thanks Joe.

                    £185.4 - £106.35 = £79.05m

                    Purely Benitez's signings:

How is it flawed? Total them up yourself with the same players I have used.

Their the ones who we compete with 9 times out of 10 if you finish above utd you win the league.
                            We need serious funds.

30 odd million per season may sound like alot but feck all compared to the to the mancs etc........ We are the paupers of the top 4.

Should we also exclude income from tickets from the budget as Rafa didn't build the stadium?

Or from merchandise because Rafa didn't manufacture them?

What kind of deluded logic is that?

                              Yeah, great thread...

This defies normal rules of logic. So if he didn't sell Houllier's buys, he would have had a net spent of £24.8m a season and still be left with a number of unsellable duds on our books, meaning by your own distorted logic, these players would still have got a value today ... players like Murphy, Owen, Diao etc ... all worth a pot of gold in today's market.
