No, i acknowledge that there's such a thing as a 'work in progress'.

The question is about who has been an undoubted success though, and as such, a work in progress isnt one.

I would certainly have to ask what ratio of players signed we should be expecting to be 'unquestionable successes' within 2 years of signing when these include freebies, cheapos and players that have barely had any game time. I don't think these kind of stats are much use at all.

That said, if I was Rafa I would certainly have looked to sign fewer players for more money per player. In the first 2/3 seasons it was understandable, but we really should be at the point by now where only a small number of first team signings is made per window. The turnover is too high IMO.

I agree, but I think the real question is, are we as strong as we should be given the net spend of the last two years? For me, the waters are a little muddier on that one.

Point being, this ratio is skewed heavily by them and as a result it is a poor indicator of value for money. I agree with a lot of the points you made, but I don't think your attempts to 'prove' your argument holds much water. People will probably end up arguing with your 'proof' instead of debating the points, which would be much more interesting.

I dont see why questioning an aspect of Rafa's management is an 'attack'.

It implies that either you agree with everything he's done, or you're attacking him. Surely that's a bit over the top.
