I've posted something similiar on other threads, Raneari (sp) bought Cech, Robben and a.n other who I can't remember so Jose inherited these players to add to the team that finished 2nd in the PL and got to the CL semi final. Chelsea weren't exactly 20 points clear when he left either.

I'm actually quite a fan of Jose, I think a lot of his showmanship is amusing but there is a massive myth surrounding how good he actually is imo.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Can we please let this thread be for a while, I get sick of seeing his name in the thread title on the day of our big game against Madrid.

Winning with a team challenging in portugal is no mean feat, let's not forget that the PL is the stongest league in the world.

Jose's achievements are considerable. He won the league in portual, yes, and he won the PL twice, yes, and he'll win the league in Italy, yes, but they were all easy and it's no real achievement Ridiculous.

Sure, we can ignore the facts, the tophies, and use basically nothing to prove he's over-rated. Even if you accept that he had it all easy, which is questionable, that doesn't provide any evidence that he isn't as good as suggested.

There's a lot of lazy and bitter criticism directed at him (and Craig_H).

I'd like to dissociate myself from that. OK, I have no time for him, I find his arrogance unspeakably irritating, charmless and, although he's obviously a bright enough bloke, rather unjustified and I think no-one can hold him in as high regard as he does himself but to lump him in with Craig_H is unfair on the man.

                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Oh that old Chestnut (lol at the thought of Thommo).. The old...'you all hate him just because he's successful' argument being used in this thread i see, when the truth is the world is full of successful, wealthy, and very lucky lucky people, but they are not all figures of hate, so the argument that remains is the correct one, and that is...it's how a person, especially a successful person, acts and behaves that mainly effects and forms peoples opinion of them. imo that is.

Never said it was easy mate, just that he hasn't exactly taken a team that was going nowhere(as in us before rafa arrived) and turned them in gods.He took a very good Porto side and made them champions, did the same with Chelsea after pumping in millions and then took over Inter who were already league champions and did it again.Who's to say Ranieri wouldn't have made them Champions since he was the one who'd already signed most of the players that were regulars when they did win it.For me he's not the messiah who can turn us into champions cos our situation is different in that we don't have millions nor are we champions, nor have we finished 2nd twice in a row and are ready to take that step up.His one great achievement was the champions league with Porto,a feat matched by Rafa and Rafa achievements with Valencia are better than Maureen's with Porto, domestically cos he did it in as tougher league.Rafa has built a squad that can challenge, thats the first step, one that was taken for Maureen by his predecessor at all the clubs he's managed.

                      Plus he's a ****.
