I got up this morning, sat down, thought to myself, hmm, should I watch the match, or should I go to the gym before work as per usual.

Then I thought, nah, this is Rafa, we have a lead, he'll be playing defensive and it'll be a snoozefest.

I get the impression I was a wee bit wrong and should have hung around.
WTF man?!?! How could you miss that? It was epic!

Certainly am, but I knew we'd get through anyways. Never have a doubt in Europe. It was a forgone conclusion.

That's the problem. It feels like a long distant second prize this season.

You never know but, miracles could happen
-Carry this form into the Manc game
            -Kick their arse
-Put them off their run of form
-Take the PL and CL double!

I'm going to let my dreams run away with me for a while. I don't care if they're unrealistic.

It's great to see some optimism around these parts mate

(even if it's because we're all probably a wee bit tipsy)

Spot on ! I am not a huge fan of Babbs but he was good out there last night, still a little heavy on his touch at times but great perfomance from the lad. You know he has the pace to destroy defenders, I was screaming turn on the afterburners Babbs ! and he did ...

Sensational performance .. we never let up

                Well done lads ..

Great performance by the crowd also, they should offer all the people at the game season tickets for next year ... Quality.. Classy singing Jay Spearings name

Absolutely incredible performance, pretty much perfect in fact.

The start was mind blowing, reminded me of the Juve game from 4 years back and we continued blitzing them throughout, in a controlled, professional manner.

Some of the football was totally beautiful to watch and certain individuals looked like completely different players.

Atmosphere was sensational and Torres didnt get injured But for Casillas (who was brilliant, for me), we'd have won 8-0. Hoping to get Inter, Bayern or Barcelona in the quarters.

If we played with that kind of tempo, drive and purpose on a regular basis (i'm aware that we wouldnt always win 4-0 or even maybe win at all), i wouldnt even dream of questioning the manager - ever.

Tonight has given us the best possible boost going into the manc game - it seriously couldnt have gone any better. If, by some joyous turn of events, Inter can get a result tomorrow night, Saturday's game will suddenly have a totally different atmosphere attached to it.

7 points and a game in hand is still a huge gap, but we cant close it all in one go - let's start on Saturday and see where it takes us.

Because it's nearly impossible to play like that all the time. Even Man. Utd can't reach those heights in full swing. I haven't seen a team play with as much tempo as we did last night. It was incredibly fast, direct and any team in the world would have succumbed last night.

If those so called magnificent supporters could turn up when we play Stoke, that would help a lot also.

I'd rather Chelsea got Bayern, we should save them for the final.

Inter would be just dandy.... you can bet your life a certain manager wouldn't fancy another big tie at Anfield in what is most definitely OUR competition.

I looked the game and saw Gerrard score from the spot so I still say it was a penalty

Torres was utterly unplayable for the first half hour, an awesome display of centre-forward play at the top level.
Mascherano MOM without a shadow of doubt, but i think to single out any of our players does the rest an injustice, to a man absolutely magnificent from the first whistle to the last.

The whole performance was imo, the closest ive seen during Rafa's time here to his Valencia side of old.
If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

                                Rafa

The starting 11 and the subs used

Torres letting Real know who he was after scoring

A special mention to Lucas for his "mini me" impersonation of Crouchie with his new haircut

Hopefully everybody fit for Saturday, a little unsure on Shabby, was he limping when he came off
