Just watched the game again and he really was excellent. Defensively he wasn’t troubled at all and offensively he was brilliant (especially in the first half).

Ronaldo didn’t get a sniff first half and was no surprise to see him switched for the second.

He was brilliant for the first goal as well, pulled the ball out of the air (similar to Sami) and laid it off to Skrtel under pressure.

That’s two great performances against United this year.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He has been fantastic over the past two seasons.

I would play Dossena at left wing - he seems a lot more comfortable in the attacking third. At left back, he simply doesn't have the positional sense to play there. Sell Riera

Thinking about it, the fact that Ronaldo stayed on Aurelio's wing until well into the 2nd half, despite Carragher being on the other wing, tells you everything you need to know. I can't imagine it's because of any weaknesses Aurelio may have; more that they wanted to force him back, and yet he had a brilliant 1st half regardless

Maybe. I personally thought that Fergie wanted to keep the balance in his midfield. If Ronaldo went on the left wing, yes, he would have had Carragher on speed but he doesn't seem as comfortable on his left foot to deliver. By cutting in, Ronaldo would have caused more congestion with Rooney and Tevez dropping deep too.

Not to the same extent. I find Park is a lot more balanced on both flanks. He did cut in for the early chance but other than that, I thought United came with a plan of being disciplined and organised from back to front.
