    Sami Hyypia

Haven't seen anything so decided to start a the thread.

Just thought that the big man deserves huge credit for his performance today! He was first rate from his positioning, first touch passing and awareness, Has been a great servant and it's going to be a sad day when he finally leaves.

Came in at the last minute and didn't look out of place to say the least.

The man is an absolute legend!!!!

Yep. Must say I was a bit worried before kick off. I really needn't have been and should've known better. What a legend.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well said. And Carra played well at RB also.

              Oh Sami Sami...

Best signing in the past 10 years. How much did Ferdinand cost?

He did a fantastic bit of controlling a high ball with Rooney or Tevez putting pressure just behind him. He killed that ball and passed it safely to Pepe, inviting the commentator to say he had a 'Brazilian moment'. He's an outstanding footballer and one of our true greats.

He's right up there with Hansen as our best defender ever. He's still got one year left in him and I'd want Rafa to give him another contract + some sort of coaching capacity (with Pellegrino). This guy will be a massive loss if he goes.

He is just as worthy of legendary status as any defensive player from our illustrious past. Hyypia is the best defender we've had since Alan Hansen. I hope he stays with us in some capacity as a defensive coach or something, and he's been fantastic as a back-up option this season.

Does anyone know if or when he will have a testimonial match?

IIRC he was great in pre-season too - he's looked better than ever since any opportunity he's had.

Another player that Rafa has somehow made that slight bit better

He's a ****ing legend, hope he gets a deal to play next season as well as I can't see any youngster in the world coming in and doing better. Hope to **** he gets a league medal with us, and if he stays he will imo

I think Benitez has made him an even better player. He comes in and does a stellar job, doesn't look out of place. What Benitez has taught him about defending especially is that you don't necessarily need pace as long as you are able to read the game better than your opponent, he did that well today.

IIRC the Sky commentator said something about him having an edgy moment or something then
