I flicked on MU(CK)TV last night (I know I feel dirty, don't worry) just to see the reaction. They had a phone in & I nearly called in to ask this very question on how exactly Mancs can hate Scousers so much but in the same breath absolutely adore Rooney so much...

Regarding the hate of scousers and love of Rooney, I did read an article that said they meant LFC when they say they hate scousers and when they sing "Are you watching Merseyside".

He backs this up by explaining that is the reason why it was acceptable for Phil Neville to go to Everton and why Robbie Fowler was able to go Man City.

And to be fair, as I too don't mind City, I saw his point.
