    Roy Hodgson!!!!

Fulham take on Manchester United on Saturday but boss Roy Hodgson has told Liverpool and Chelsea not to "expect too much" from his side as the pair hope for a favour in their bids to try to catch the Premier League leaders. (Daily Mirror)

What a ****ing defeatest attitude to have. The guy is a ****ing gob****e and if i was the Fulham chairman he would be dragged into my office faster than you could imagine!

What a confidence booster this must be for his players ****ing gob****e needs to grow a set of balls. No wonder he is a **** manager!!! I have never heard of a manager give a game up before a ball has even been kicked.

Well I hope they put up a bit of fight but they did lose 4-0 at home to them the other week.

        A/ I like Hodgson
B/ I don't really see what is so bad. We can't expect Fulham to beat United and at the same time assume (like lots of our fans do) that they should be easily beaten by ourselves. So he is basically calling the odds and until we see the game we have no idea how he has prepared his team or if he will play to win etc.
C/ Why should other teams not play their season the way we see fit when we are happy to play weakened teams at the end of the season when it suits us but others are still fighting for places?

inclined to agree - a piss poor shout by him - no pressure on them he should tell his players to go and make a name for themselves

Me too, I think he has done well with Fulham, maybe he is trying to take some pressure of his team, we don't know what he is saying to his team in private.

I kinda like Hodgson too, but he shouldnt be saying to his side, let's go at the cunts while theyre hurt & see what happens, not publicly waving the white flag pre-game.
              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

the higher they finish the more dough they get if i was a fan i would love to beat one of the big teams - not roll over and ask them to tickle me belly like he seems intent on

I wasn't necessarily saying he was going to but countless managers have done so in the past against United to save players or simply to try new things out knowing that no matter what they were unlikely to get the points and for them other games are more important (in terms of chances to take points). I think that the manager is entitled to do whatever he thinks is right for his team as long as, unlike Warnock, they are willing to live and die (in career terms) by the consequences of your decisions.

As with Rafa's supposedly baffling team decisions what the fans think is largely irrelevant. If at the end of the season their expectations have been met or exceeded they will 99 times out of 100 forgive anything. It would be nice to imagine that every team would always go for glory but O'Neill and Redknapp were largely felt to be right in their decision to sack off their UEFA cup games to concentrate on the league, I really see no difference in terms of obligations to fans etc.

Hodgson didn't say he was gonna play a weakened side, but I think dww was saying that we can't expect other teams to do us favours, they will play the match on their terms just like we do when we put out weakened sides to sve energy for the CL.

I think this is also a perfectly valid interpretation - we shouldn't let a lack of knowledge stop us jumping in to attack someone though.
