    Vidic

    Did anyone notice this

WHen Torres was going past (for our First) as Vidic was falling to the ground his arm went out to pull Torres down?

Not seen that specific incident mentioned on here. (but not read everything)

    Oh and still smilling

if he had connected at that point then that was a red.

the ref had a great game. And the best two defenders in the world as voted by scum and media looked well ordinay.

Vidic tries this all the time. Against top teams he invariably gets beaten and then tries to drag the player down. Luckily for him he doesn't always succeed in getting the man otherwise he'd be off in every top game.

The bottom line is that, yes very good defender against most teams but against the top teams/strikers he's a liability. Should've been sent off in CL final too.

Someone said Utd have been so good defensively because they are always attacking - sums it up for me. get them on the backfoot by controlling the game as we did and then ask questions of their back 4.

They are good but not as good as the media have portrayed, as was proven on Saturday, and to a lesser extent the signs were their for me when Inter carved out some nice clear chances on Wednesday.

Also , Blackburn were very unlucky to lose. When they were level, they had a shot come back off the post right before Ronaldo scored - then they had a stonewall penalty not given.

The cracks are starting to show, lets hope things get worse before they getter better for them.

I don't think that's fair at all actually. he is an excellent player but he needs a good covering player alongside him (much like Terry). Usually Ferdinand has been exceptional at that for United and the pairing has been a huge part of their success. All top defenders tend to take advantage of referees unwillingness to punish shirt tugs (Carra certainly does it). Against us Ferdinand reverted to his pre-last year self when he more often used to let his mind wander. His positioning relative to Vidic was shocking (especially when compared to how well Skrtel and Hyypia interacted).

Vidic had a mare, but i honestly dont believe there is a defender in the world who can cope with Torres when he is no fire.

Vidic is a class act for sure, jsut torres is a lot classier

                      Agreed...

Vidic can usually cope with any player in the world, but Torres had a better day than him.

According to Sky Sports News, Vidic banned for two games. WTF, why not three???
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

Its only a 3 game ban is if its for violent conduct and I think he got 2 game ban because it works out as 1 game for the red card, and 2 nd game for it being his second red of the season

I didn't say he wasn't a very good player, just that against the very top teams he is REGULARLY found wanting. He's not the world-class defender we are led to believe IMHO. All defenders make mistakes of course but not time and again in big matches - he's lucky to not get punished more by the ref and strikers missing chances. He's class yes but not world-class, no way.

Vidic does it all the time, hopefully refs will keep an eye on him from now on.
