Liverpool Reserves take on Wigan Athletic tonight boosted by the return to action of Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth, and don't forget you can watch the entire match live online or on LFC TV from 6.30pm GMT.
Last season's top scorer has been sidelined with a fractured cheekbone sustained during his first appearance on loan at Blackpool at the end of January.
"Krisztian will play some part in this game and it's good to have him back," Ablett told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"Whether he starts or comes on as a substitute I don't know yet because we've got to be careful with him after his injury.
"Sooner or later we have got to take the L plates off him and let him go again, and he has been looking sharp in training and scoring goals.
"He has been very unfortunate with injuries this season. He went away with the first team in pre-season and from the cameo roles he made he looked very dangerous.
"It was all going really well for him but he then picked up an injury playing for Hungary and it's been frustrating since.
"If he had been fully fit all season he would probably be part of Rafa's first-team plans now, but there's still over two months until the end of the season.
"If he continues to impress and score goals like he did last year, then he might get a first-team chance before the end of the season."
On the subject of promising goal getters, Finnish starlet Lauri Dalla Valle is also in the squad tonight after appearing as a substitute during last week's 2-2 draw with Manchester United.
Dalla Valle has scored 14 goals for Hughie McAuley's under-18 team this season and his performances have seen the Melwood staff take note.
"It was unfortunate we couldn't bring Lauri on against United for the final 15 minutes but we had an injury to Emmanuel Mendy so I had to bring Ronald Huth on," said Ablett.
"Lauri has been playing really well for the under-18s and has scored a lot of goals - his time will come.
"I've been impressed with him this season and he's been training with us for over a week now and has done remarkably well. He has scored goals in training and has showed an appetite to listen and learn."
Tonight's trip to Wigan will see Ablett come up against two good friends with their management team of Keith Bertschin and Dave Watson.
"Keith and Dave are good friends of mine and most of the Wigan team are Scousers so they will be up for this game, that's for sure," he said.
"We've had some good close games against Wigan and I am not expecting anything different tonight."
Meanwhile on the injury front, Ablett is still without captain Stephen Darby as well as long term casualties Gary Mackay-Steven, Ray Putterill and Francisco Duran. Summer signings Nikola Saric and Zsolt Poloskei have yet to kick a ball because of injuries.
"Saric and Poloskei are running again and doing some ball work so we will have to see whether they can play before the end of the season," said Ablett. "It's been frustrating for them.
"I think Ray has been a massive miss for us this season in terms of what he provides for the team in the wide areas. He's still a fair way off returning but we are looking forward to getting him back next season."
