    Hicks Sky Sports Interview

Hicks has done an interview with Sky Sports news, some of the major points are:-

    1. He had no doubt Rafa would sign an extension

    2. Wants to extend Aggers contract

    3. They will take their time in finding Parry's replacement, they want to get it right, it could take 9 months.

    4. Stadium will be built, approval was only received on september 18th 2008 on the latest design, when credit markets "re-open" they will get the financing.

    5. Stadium could cost up to 25% less due to falling prices in labour and steel markets.

    6. Hoping to win champions league this year

    7. Wants to expand revenue from Asia.

    8. No confirmed transfer budget for the summer (Rafa hadn't asked for any guarentees as part of the contract discussion).

    9. Thinks he will be around for the next 5 years - can't speak for Gillett.

Has Parry been instructed to find his own replacement then?

No H&G met with recruitment consultants in London last week according to reports...

He plans to be around for years, but no mention of how he plans to pay back the money that's due in July. The man is deluded.

No, he isn't. Everytime someone has said he is gone or he can't manage he has stuck in. This isn't meant in a positive sense as I think the guy is a parasitic redneck but deluded he is not.

Worst case scenario for him is a very healthy profit on a short term investment and stadium aside he has been no worse than the rest of the circus that surrounded us these last few years.

Once, just once, i'd love for something to happen with LFC and for the media-whore Hicks NOT to shoot his gob off to the press the following day.

But back in the real world...

I acknowledge what you've said about him sticking in, but the loan repayment thing wont just go away - if the banks call it in, what's he going to do? He'll be ****ed.

He signed Rafa to this long term contract so I don't see how one is good news and the other spoils it.

Nope, just lower his price to make £100m rather than £140m. He is sitting on prime assets and knows enough people to pull through this especially when there is huge sums to be made.

It doesnt 'spoil' it, but it's just idiosyncratic of the gob****e and his inability to know how LFC does (or did) things.

Well yes, when i said '****ed', i meant he'd be forced to take less than he intended to from it. Either way, long as he goes, i'm not fussed if he makes £100m or £140m profit.

But if it reaches that stage and a prospective buyer knows he needs to sell, suddenly his ability to call the shots and name his price dwindles rapidly.

He might find himself in desperate need to sell and with nobody offering what he deems to be a fair price. In which case, he would be slightly ****ed.

By a complete fluke the delay in building the stadium could be good for us in the long term, if it costs say £200m before the fall in labour and steel prices and it cost £40m less (20%)...

it will all come down to how much more revenue we get once we move...
