We'll try hard to do Manchester United a favour claims Fulham's Roy HodgsonMar 24 2009
By Adrian Curtis, Liverpool Daily Post
FULHAM manager Roy Hodgson insists his side can still have a major say in the destination of the Premier League title.
The Cottagers still have to face Chelsea and Liverpool before the end of the season and Hodgson’s side are brimming with
confidence after their 2-0 defeat of league leaders Manchester United on Saturday.
Hodgson is already relishing Liverpool’s visit to Craven Cottage on Saturday week and their trip to Stamford Bridge in May.
“We will be doing our very best to make certain that the performances we give against Liverpool and Chelsea are in no way
inferior to the performance we gave against Manchester United,” declared Hodgson. “We will work very hard, we will do our very best, and we will try and get points off them.”
But Hodgson was quick to warn Anfield manager Rafael Benitez and Chelsea’s Guus Hiddink that they will have no easy ride
against them.

“I hope they won’t be thanking me when we play them, because there is no interest from my point of view in favouring any of the teams at the top,” said Hodgson.
“I can assure all Manchester United fans, and certainly my friend Sir Alex Ferguson, that we’ll be working every bit as hard, and trying every bit as hard, to beat Liverpool and Chelsea.”
Bring it on

if they lost them 2 games i reckon we will win the league.....so **** em, i would take them winning those 2 if it meant we won number 19Originally posted by magicalbarnes View PostEven if they did, unfortunately the league and european cup would still be in their hands._____________________________________

Only if the team playing first gets a result. If we fail to beat Fulham the pressure is off.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI think playing second holds more pressure, personally.
Mancs are playing it right by not bringing the Villa game forward. Anderson and Tevez get to play now, whilst the suspended players such as Vidic, Scholes and Rooney can start the Porto game - an energy boost in every area of the park.
Had the title been wrapped up theres no doubt he'd have brought the Villa game forward and taken the extra rest and preperation for the FC Porto game.
In a thread I started after the Boro game I had all but conceded the title (like everyone else) and said the very least we could do was not to give up on the league (like suggested by hamshanks) but to keep pushing and make Man Utd win it the hard way. This would not only mean we could capitalise in the remote chance they bottled it, but would also make it harder for them to win a historic quintuple. No resting the big players for Europe and FA cup games.
I am delighted to say that the team has done exactly as I pleaded for them to do. I only ask they continue to do so. If the Mancs win every game then fair enough. But it must be them winning it, not us blowing it again.Forwards.......

That's right, 'all finished, nothing to see now.'
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

That's it, it is still there's to lose. But what a difference two games make, it really is amazing.
We're back in this title race now, and have got a great shout. I remember before the match at the Scum's place Andy Gray said the mancs had not had a blip this season and that's what makes champions. They took advantage of our blip, and we need to learn from it and do it to them.
