I think Heskey is a very good player. He may not be prolific but he's a handful for any defense. His hold up play has improved and he makes other players play. He would have been a decent short term back up in view of Keane's ship out.

He's not on good enough for any of the top four in the P.L. Dirk is doing what Heskey couldn't do.

But to be fair everyone as been in the last 3 matches, including some of the best players in the world.

No-on would ever suggest Emile is one of the best players in the world and I'm certainly not trying to, just his lack of performance against a rampant us is no mark of weakness.

He certainly has attributes we could use, but there are much better exponents out there than Heskey. Personally I think we could have used a quick and powerful target man, but if it was Heskey himself it would have been in the very short term only.
