I suspect that the article was particularly designed to get a load of web traffic. It is tabloid 'journalism' of the worst kind.

don't you have like sports papers in england? or any serious press? the guardian or the times perhaps? why do you lot always concern yourselves with whats written in the lowest form of journalism - tabloids - and not with stuff written in serious press?

why even read crap like that?

There aren't really popular sports papers but all the tabloids have sections which would be comparable. We have certainly never had a credible non-tabloid sports paper in the style of say France Football.

To be fair to the tabloid press they do have some good sports writers they just always balance it with a lot of speculation and crap.

I believe the first issue of the free Sports magazine had an "exclusive" which ended up with Gerrard suing and winning from them for publishing fake receipts from his hotel stay in Madrid where he was moving to. This is the kind of journalism we have to put up with.

ok i get that, but people really concern themselves too much with what's written in them. i mean people always moan how crap they are and what **** they write, but it doesn't seem to stop them posting links to their websites with the crap stories.

and i just can't see myself going for a cup of coffe and picking up a tabloid in favour of a sports paper(no matter how crappy it's gotten of late)

                  really?

i'd have thought there has to be a credible sports paper somewhere around...seems like people nowadays think the sports page is about reading what stevie or lampard or whoever else, did on saturday night instead of reading the match report, analysis etc. don't get me wrong, papers like that exist probably all over the world, it's just seems not to the extent they do in england/britain

There are, Sporting Life for example, but nobody reads them, maybe with the exception of gamblers looking for tips on the nags.

Benitez looked so grumpy following Liverpool’s thrashing of Aston Villa? By Dan Silver, Mirror.co.uk 24/03/2009

What we've learned from football this week

What a couple of weeks for Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez.

First his nemesis Rick Parry resigns from his position as the club’s chief executive.

Then he sees his team puts four goals past Real Madrid, another four past Manchester United, and then five past Aston Villa in successive games.

And along the way he signs a fat new contract that will bring untold new riches to <i>casa Benitez<i>.

So why was he seen skulking around Anfield on Sunday afternoon muttering about how his reborn, rampant players hadn’t actually performed very well at all, and should in fact have scored more goals?

Could it be that Rafa doesn’t actually want Liverpool to win the Premier League?

Could it be that the Champions League is of such paramount importance in his mind that a tight, tense title run-in could actually jeopardise his side’s progress in Europe?

Nah, of course not. That really would be the behaviour of a man cracking up, right?

Was going to post that too, last night. Easily the worst article I have ever read. I don't even get his point - it seems to say that because Rafa wanted us to score more goals that he isn't interested in winning the premier league? That's just bizarre.

I wish there was a way to respond to these idiots. They have a position of responsibility because they write something which is seen potentially by the nation, and yet a child could write a better article. Can't believe they actually get paid for this drivel (mind lots of people have clicked the link).

I am actually, personally offended that this person gets paid for writing this ****e about my club - any lawyers out there? I believe I have suffered a psychological trauma by reading this. This article has damaged my well-being by making me think less of the human race of which I am part - come on - there must be a no win no fee lawyer who's willing to take that on!
                        Really?

This was all started by that hairy c**t during the match on Sunday, because he couldn't think of anything else to have a go at Rafa about he decided to have a pop at Rafa because he wasn't smiling after we scored, how pathetic.
I'd like to know if Jaimie has lost his balls or is he just treading the party line because if I was him I would have asked him to name an occasion where Rafa has ever celebrated a goal, he just concentrates on the game.

Why is everyone making such a big deal about Sky highlighting Rafa not smiling? I’ve talked about it before, I’m sure others here have to and Liverpool TV discussed it this week also.

It’s hardly a big deal is it?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I was kind of laughing along with them to be honest. Especially when they showed the montage of his reaction after all the goals
